| Loss of appetite Royce is not eating his regular food ( I home cook for him ) I have been feeding him myself twice a day . Do you have any idea what can I do to get his appetite back ? I'm desperate I asked his vet and he said there is no medication for dogs regarding appetite . Royce is active and alert and playful and his last blood tests about a month ago came back good . Any idea what might help him get his appetite back? Thnks |

| How long has this been going on? Have you tried feeding him something really special? If he eats the things he really wants then I wouldn't worry as much as I would if he won't eat anything at all.

oh and there is an appetite stimulant that dogs can take but its usually only given when the animal is sick or not eating after surgery or something like that.

| Just for information, we found out a long time ago that with both of our Yorkies ( and over a period of 18 years ) that PORK is definitly not one of the best items to ever be feeding to any little Yorkies system. Both of our Yorkies are now at the Rainbow Bridge, however we did learn a lot and one thing was NO PORK!!! It didnt take 18 years to find this out, if this was confusing anyone. If he is eating fruits just give a little time and appetite should come back. |

| pork is not recommended because it is very likely to cause pancreatitis... I would most definitely find a different type of meat to include in his food.
