Yorki Leg Injury Has anyone had major problems with luxating patella? My Yorki had an injury today and tore her ACL. She can not put any pressure on her poor little paw. If there is anyone out there who has had this same problem, please let me know. We are to see a Dr. on Monday regarding this.

Torn ACL My baby also has a torn acl. I have read so much on the internet about this, that I am totally confused. I've been reading on the different websites that small dogs can heal themselves but it takes about 3 months. I am going to wait and see what happens. Good luck at the vet.

Th Smooch Recovery! Hello Everyone! Thanks for your kind notes. Smooch had surgery on Thursday to fix her luxating Patella and her ACL. She is resting with me. I hate to see her so helpless. I know with time she will be as good as new. Dr. said she did great. The techs loved her and hated to see her go. Keep praying for her. She goes back to the orthopedic Dr. in 2 weeks. Will Keep you posted!

Happy to hear she is doing well. I will probably end up having to do the surgery, but trying to hold off.

Thanks So Much! Wish you were in Maryalnd. You could join my Yorki Meet-up Group! Thanks for the kind words. She seems to be better. She wants to play but I need to keep her on a short leash. She jumped off the couch the other day and nearly gave me a heart attack. She is encouraging play that has got to be a good sign. I need to post her picture! So you can see her.
