| I am really happy about TJ's #s. I am going to continue with the special homemade diet and supplements for both TJ and Roxy. I will retest them in 3 months. If TJ's #s stay low, I will retest him in a years time (but continue with diet and supplements). Roxy...I know her post # will always be high, and after the next BAT comparison, we will decide if we want to do any other more invasive testing. |

| Well, TJ's look awesome! It looks like him and Ellie are doing the same fluctuation thing. I'm sorry about Roxy. My first guess would be MVD. Have you done a Protein C test on her? That could almost completely rule out shunt and then you could just treat for MVD (like you are now).

If she has already been spayed then if it comes back in MVD range I would probaby skip the liver biopsy. That's just me though.

Yes, Roxy was spayed at 6 mons. And if I would have had my current Vet back then, we might have caught onto something strange with her liver, etc...before the spay. But, I just don't think I want to put her through a liver biopsy. She has already went thru 2 major LP sugeries, and she still needs to do 1 more, even that I don't know what to do about

| Wow!! TJ's numbers look awesome I'm so happy to see how much he has improved. As far as Roxy goes, how old is she?? Those numbers do seem to point more towards MVD. In the Files of the liver shunt group, you can find all the info on the Protein C test that you can print up and take to your vet. It sounds like you have a good, solid plan for the two of them. Poor girl with her LP That's not fair. Is she in pain? Has she had any trouble waking up from anesthesia in the past?

Yes, I went to the files of liver support group. One of the forms that I pulled up was a Coagulation form. Is that was the Protein C test is for? If so, Roxy already had one at the Center for Specialized Care. Her Internal Medicine Specialist, also told me that she just recently came from Cornell and Dr. Center - so I am wondering if that is indeed the Protein C test. This is the line on my bill: Coagulation Prof 3 PT/PTT/PL (cost was $67) Anyway, all of the test done on Roxy were in normal range, they didn't indicate anything wrong with her liver (other than the BAT) As far as Roxy's LP - I don't think she is in pain, but I just feel that we went through all that effort to get them fixed in the first place, I just feel that Roxy deserves to have brand new legs - As far as I know, none of the operating Vets indicated any problems with Roxy and anesthesia.

| Question for you...Did Roxy ever exhibit any of the symptoms of liver problems?

| Not any of the more 'classic' symptoms. Roxy is very shy and timid and 'blobish' when others are holding her. She is very submissive. Her Specialist that did her LPs suggested that we test her liver, she said 'any other breed' would not phase her, but since Roxy is a Yorkie and her very 'blah' behavior when in the hospitals care gave her a little concern. But, it's really hard to tell with Roxy, b/c of course I too see that Blah side, b/c I have TJ to compare her to, but Roxy also has a very different side that she shows us at home, more up and such. Anyway, what I am trying to say is I think that may just be her persona |

| Gosh, Nicole...what is MVD? I didn't know Roxy was having problems, other than the LP. I feel so bad! This sounds scary. Sending best wishes and I'll be praying for your little sweetheart!

| When Miko is feeling great, believe me, he looooves to eat!! Before homecooking, I had never seen him eat like this before!! LOL BUT on his "off" days, he will barely even touch food. Thank goodness, his off days are far and few between now.
