| Anxiety attack !!!!! Hello everyone, My mom's 8 year old yorkie, Ally, started acting very funny last night around 5 am. She began panting and wanting to be held at all times. This is very unlike Ally because she is usually very independent an aloof. We are going to give her a puppyease pill to hopefully calm her a bit. We have had extreme cold (in Miami's standards anyways) for the past two days, could this be a reason for her behavior? She has a warm sweater on and is indoors but we are just considering it... Another thing is that Ally has epilepsy so we assumed that she was going to have an episode but she hasn't at all. We are getting concerned and are just curious if anyone has seen this behavior before and may know what it is... Or should we call the vet.... Thank you all in advance...you always come through for me

| If it's constant ... I'd definitely go to the vet ... If more infrequent ... but lasts, steadily for a period of 2 or 3 days ... again, I'd go to the vet. |

| Wow, are the only symptoms panting and restlessness? I would not give any pills at all. She needs to be seen by a vet and I wouldn't wait.

| Thank you both for you advice...she actually seems to be calming down a bit Just for thought...we had the battery to a smoke alarm dying in the garage..The noise was a very high pitched *beep* every 5 minutes..we just found out where it was coming from and took it out..the noise has now stopped and she seems to be calming...could this have caused her behavior?? I know some dogs are affected by high pitched sounds... let me know what you think...again thank you so much !!!

| Is Alley being treated for her Epilepsy? My Murphy ahs seizures and has been treated for it with Phenobarbital.... right before an attack sometimes I can see he may get slightly anxious or nervous. I think it is not normal but normal in my Murphy’s case with the attacks he has. Wonder if Alley had the same thing going on. I hope she is better ...will be saying a prayer for her.
