Dang it!!! My first Chocolate experience!! I swear I don't think Riley could get into anymore trouble. I woke up this morning, to my boyfriend's stocking candy everywhere!! Ughhh.... which included a big chocolate bar. Well thank god a few weeks ago, I made a Riley Emergency folder that had links of important ER vets and other sites about crazy dog stuff. Lol. I called the ER vet and they said to give him peroxide. Well he started vomiting on his own so they told me not to do the peroxide. Now I have to keep him calm and he can't eat for a few hours. Keeping him calm is so dang hard. The vet said to try to get him to go to sleep because that would slow his heart rate. Now all he wants to do is play.

Maxi got into some chocolate when he was 6 months old. We had to take him to the ER - $300, but worth it to save him. I only recently found out about the peroxide. I did have to use that once when Coco got into some chocolate. Hope Riley is doing ok (and you, too) Merry Christmas!

Riley never does anything wrong when I'm around either. he is still throwing up every now and then, but the vet said thats normal. Im afraid hes going to get dehydrated. How can I get him to drink water without shoving his nose in his water?

If he'll go for it, put some room temperature water in your cupped hand and offer it to him and see if he goes for it. | |

Just a side note. My vet had me give some pepto bismol after I had to use peroxide on my 11 mo. old Yorkie after he ate one of my mom's pills. She said it would help calm his stomach down. Then after a few hours I was to feed him a smaller amount than usual. Turned out okay, but was hair-raising for a bit. Glad your little one is doing okay.
