| Please help!! My sister in law has a 7 week old yorkie and today he drank alot of water and now his tummy is bloated and he is foaming at the mouth and is having convulsions. Is this from drinking too much water? She is trying to call her vet.Is there anything she can do until she can get a hold of him? |

| 7 weeks is to young for the pup to be away from its mommy. Give a drop of nutrical and get the pup to the vet asap. |

| Drinking too much water wouldn't give him convulsions. My first thought is that he may be in hypoglycemic shock from low blood sugar since at seven weeks he is way too young to be away from his mother. If this is the case, you must get sugar into him quickly to try to raise his blood sugar before he goes into a coma. Do you have any pancake syrup, jelly, or honey on hand? Rub it on his gums and see if he comes around. If he's hypo, his gums will be very pale. He should respond pretty quickly, but the sugar is only a quick fix and he'll need real food asap or he'll just crash again. |

| Oh wow... well she should really know this info. I hope she has some nutrical on hand. Not to go against what was already said, but I personally wouldn't use honey unless it was the absolute last resort. Let us know how he's doing!

| The descended tummy could be from drinking a lot of water. This is my uneducated guess... He drank too much water, his belly was over full and he didn't eat his food. Therefore his sugar dropped.

| He was constipated when I left there. When I was there he was pacing around and then he was laying on his side and kicking his legs and stiffened his whole body. Then when he came out of it he was shaking and then he started crying very loudly. When I left her house he was foaming at the mouth.I don't know.I am just asking for her.I have never had a problem like that.I have two yorkies and have never had anything serious like that happen to me. |
