| We've been to a bad groomer and unfortunately I didn't know any better. I took Loki there about 3 times and he got terrible cuts and was scared. Now we go to a groomer who grooms at her home and does only one dog at a time. She lets me stay if I want to. Loki runs up to her porch because he can't wait to see her and he isn't afraid of the groomer any more. There are good ones out there you just have to look hard (and tip well!!!)

| Erin, you are very fortunate to find that groomer! And the way you know she is good, is by the fact that your baby runs up the porch to see her! In the past, when I brought my babies to various groomers, they were shaking and clinging to me! Needless to say, I don't bring them to anyone. I have learned how to do it myself. The only thing I can't do is cut their nails. It scares me too much that I might hurt them. So, I just bring them into our Vet and have the girls there do it. |

| The very first time I took Josie to get groomed at PetsSmart. They shaved her WITHOUT letting me know. Both of them, now go to a diffrent groomer, so worth the 30 minute drive.

BTW nails are not so scary. Once in a while you make one bleed but give them a cookie and they are fine and forget all about it. Mine are SO dramatic about getting their nails done. They squirm and scratch me. It helps to have two people to hold them. Shove some peanut butter in their mouths and smear it all around. Clip quickly while they lick it all off!

| Uno has only been to the groomers once, he's 5 months and I just needed him to be trimmed up a bit and his face "de-scruffed". His face looked good but you couldn't really tell a difference in the length of his coat. His paws were nice and neat though. $36.....Since we live in MN I spose it's not a bad thing that he still has his length of hair! It's getting to be 40 degrees in the AM now.....i'm not looking forward to this.... |

To make a long story short, I now cut my dogs hair and only get him groomed once every couple months at a professional groomer shop owned by an award winning show groomer. The last time I went I made an appointment for a few days later with one of the girls and brought in a pic of what i wanted him to look like and she did a great job! The next time I go, I'm gonna book in advance so that the owner can cut his hair. Oh, and the best part is they're all super nice! The owner even gave me some tips for when I groom him at home

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Izzy has an awesome groomer who also shows and breeds Yorkies so he definitely knows what he is doing - plus he lives 5 minutes from my house and he does all his work from home so that makes like easy for us for now...someday he will be retiring so I hope he recommends someone he knows to take his place. We are lucky to have him take such good care of Izzy.

| Grooming Turned Out Great HELLO ALL TODAY WAS ROCKIES FIRST GROOMING EXPERIENCE. IT TURNED OUT REALLY GREAT!! HE IS FIVE MONTHS TODAY, I WAS REALLY IN DOUBT ABOUT HIS FIRST TIME BUT EVERTHING TURNED OUT WELL. MY NIECE REFFERD US TO A MOBILE GROOMER WHO DID HER TWO YORKIES HIS NAME IS SAL. SAL DID A FANTASTIC JOB. HE WAS REALLY PATIENCE WITH ROCKIE. I HAVE TAKEN ROCKIE TO PETSMART AND HE WAS ALWAYS CRYING AND AFRAID SO NOW I NEED TO FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN DO HIS EARS AND NAILS IN BETWEEN HIS GROOMING I WOULD NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING IT. MISTAKES HAPPEN, I WANT TO AVOID ANY ACCIDENTS. I WILL NOT TAKE HIM TO THAT PETSMART AGAIN. GOOD GROOMERS ARE HARD TO FIND, BUT I WAS LUCKY |
