| Groomer or DIY? Wondering how many people groom their Yorkies themselves... I personally use groomer every 3-4 months as I keep Pepper in puppy cut, I only tidy-up his ears, face and privates in between the visits.

| I just started grooming Buddy about six weeks ago. I am very pleased with the results. I have groomed him twice in that time and he looks darn good. I find myself enjoying it. He's such the perfect client, he never moves for me. I just followed the last groomer's lines and thus far I've been doing ok. He is wearing a Schnauzer cut. |

| I do Milo myself & I must be doing okay as I've had several people ask me where I get him done and then are disappointed I do him myself. Some days, he's a better behaved client then others though. |

| Both of you guys are lucky. Shaving just Pepper's ears and behind, I usually need Hubby to hold him still, and we're both exhausted...

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Izzy goes once a month to the groomers for the works and then I just keep up with the daily stuff - if she's really bad then she gets a bath in between but most times I just wipe her down with doggy wipes, comb, brush, get goobers out of her eyes and she's good to go. If I could afford it - I would have her done every two weeks. But she is good for me for what I do to her..hehehe.

| I worked at a dog/boutique grooming salon for a couple years (I worked in the boutique) and the groomers taught me how to groom Lacy. I groom her myself at the store with the groomer's supplies, and they usually still help me some. I have to get one to trim her nails for me while I hold her because she squirms too much. So I chose alternating because it's kindof a joint effort between myself and a groomer right now.

| Winston goes to a groomer every two weeks...she does great with him, I have no complaints...and best of all she's reasonably priced. I have used the same groomer for 15 years, with both my Yorkies...when she moved her business to a new location...I moved with her...I wouldn't have it any other way. Winston and I both absolutely love her!!!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Lulu's very first experience with the groomer was horrible and I haven't done it since. I cut her down myself. I do a good enough job. It's much better than having her come back home scared a hell. That time my DH wanted to go beat the living hell out of the groomer. Never again. I am slowly assembling a nice grooming kit. I want to buy a set of pro clippers when I have the money to spare. For now I have a set of wahl with clips, a small hand held one that I can do her pads and sanitary areas and a thin pencil like one that is good for between the paws.

| We do groomer, but I wish I could do it myself. She just won't sit still for me.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I just bought a clippers and groomed them the first time by myself. The result wasn't great, but I"m thinking I can now alternate between groomer and diy
