| Are your babies scared of water? I was wondering how normal/abnormal it was for a yorkie to be afraid of water. So here it is, how many babies are afraid of water? |

| neither of mine much like the sea but Dixie seems to like splashing about in it -- but not too deep. We regularly go walking by a river and in the height of summer Dougal slowly got more and more confident about swimming in it to fetch sticks and things. I even bought him a special floating toy which he loves me to throw in. He'll only go in to chase things though. Dixie just goes in to her little knees and has a drink then sits on the shore looking distainfully at Dougal. (she's very good at that.) But if you mean bath water. Neither of mine particularly like it but they tolerate it. I got a little hose attachment thingy for my bath taps and that works well because I can regulate the temperature, they prefer it just warm, and the water flow and direction. It is much easier to wash them with the hose I find. Hope that helps

| 3 Water Babies We live right next door to the Dog Park, that has a small Lake with a small island in the middle of it......I have had to train all of my dogs and puppies (3 @ one time) not to go diving off the banks and not to drink it either! We are also right across the street from the Beach, I have also had to train them not to go in too deep, they will chase the waves and try to eat the sea foam which I think is gross but they have alot of fun? I only take them on a Bath Day. Artie will go floating on an air mattress, swimming and surfing with me, but I think he only does it because I do? I get worried about him drowning since he is the only one with a long coat! I have had a friend that had his 16 yr. old Yorkie drown in a Pond behind their own house! I always watch them like a hawk anyway......I could never afford to replace any of them, the 2 were Birthday Gift's and Tiffany was a by product of Artie & Abigail, technically "Free", not including the Vet. costs. They're never truly "Free", you still pay for them in the long run. |

| cody is scared to death of water- bath water, pool water.... I'm assuming beach water, but we don't have access to a private beach and the public ones around here don't allow pets, but since he has a hard time walking through the grass after a sprinkler ran, I don't think he'd be very happy at the beach (we're hoping to get him used to it though) |

| My girls both love the water. They love to go swimming in our backyard pool. They will get on the float and float for awhile and then dive off and swim in the water. Everytime we go swimming they have to be right there with us. Bath water is another thing. Alyssa loves to get a bath in the sink. Emmy still is not so sure of the water. She tries to climb right out. Both girls love the ocean and will chase the waves and run endlessly along the beach feeling the wind in their faces. Alyssa loves to dig up the shells that are in the sand on the beach. She does not bother the ones that are just lying in the sand. She goes for the ones she has to dig.

| Max goes beserk if I go outside and turn the hose on if he can't get to it. It's the funniest thing and I wasn't really sure exactly what he was doing, but I think he's mainly trying to drink the water. He'll sometimes run out when the sprinklers go on and put his face right into the sprinkler at it's origin and get soaking wet. He yips really loud if I have the hose on and won't let him get to the water (b/c he then, runs thru sand and gets it all over everything, plus he keeps doing it and it makes him choke)......silly dog! Go figure though....when I give him a bath, rinsing his face is like the worst thing

| Bella's not but my lab Bridget is Bridget slipped off the dock at the lake where my inlaws live when she was probably 4 months old. She hates the bath, won't go swimming but loves her kiddie pool to lay in.

| my muffie is so bad. everytime my daugher is in the pool (3ft) she will jump in. and yes she can jump that high. i would have never thought but she does. then she jumps in the water, goes to the bottom, swims up and then throws up all night b/c she has gotten water in her lungs. what a mess. she has been to the er three times due to this. so "no" she is not afriad of water but i wish she were. i have to keep her in the house when we are in the pool so that she will not jump in

| Uma hates bath water, but loves to paddle with her paws in the water dish and track wet spots all over my floor. I guess she loves water...but only on her paws!
