Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Come? A poll I entered Eddie in obedience school at 11 months for one reason: I wanted him to come when I called him. Six classes and $500 later, he comes when he wants to. He's had times when he was real good at it, but he always reverts back to doing what he wants. Right now, I'm fairly happy because, while he doesn't always come, he doesn't run from me any more. Just wondering if your Yorkies come when called.

| Zena is exactly like your Eddie... She comes when she wants to and if something else is more interesting she doesn't Let me know if you find a training method that actually works! |

| Gus had a bit of a separation issue. Yes it's my fault. He's usually by my side most of the time. The only time he's not at my feet or in my arms is when he's eating or playing with the kids or outside with dad while dad is watering and he is running back and forth with his buddy on the other side of the fence. But once I call him he come right to me. He's only ran form me once and it scared the hell out of me.

| With Dixie it's 99% of the time. She's so eager to please that she'll practically always come. Dougal's not so good. I'd say most of the time he'll come first call but sometimes I gotta run away before he'll be distracted from whatever he's doing. Persistence is the key. And also not growling when they don't come. Praise, praise, praise when they do! (It also came with age with Dougal).

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Bengi will come if he's not distracted with something else. Inside our home, he comes when called most of the time; but when we are outside, that's a different story... |

| Topher's in obedience classes now and he's doing really well. Hubby and I are learning lots..lol...but we are learning what to do and what not to do so Topher will listen and do what we want him to do. So far, he's been getting really good at coming when we call and no more running away!!! What a joy that's been. |

| Mike, I really needed to answer a second time but I answered based on Gabby and she does come 100% of the time when I call her (she's such a good girl). Now Gage on the other hand, has a freaking mind of his own - he only comes when it's convenient for him OR he wants to....if he doesn't want to, he ain't budging! Suzi

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Calling? I voted 90% Stedman will usually always come when we call him, unless he is busy attacking the cat or just being completely stubborn

| I feel that we are truly blessed! Katy obeys most of the time. If she does something wrong, she will usually tell us by punishing herself (most of the time we don't even know what she did). When she does something that she perceives as wrong. She will go to her outside dog house and wait for us to feel sorry for her. She hangs out in the garage with my DH a lot. He always has the garage doors open. When ever people, kids and dogs go by she wants to run out to them and play so bad, but she knows if she does it, its back inside. So, she runs to her daddy so he can see that she is staying in the garage. |

Wow Those were some expensive classes. We're going to obedience classes now, and of course on the leash they come when called, but at home it's sporadic. The problem might be, because most of the time when I call them is when they are where they are not supposed to be. Of course they always come when I call them to feed them. | |

| Are you kidding? It's a game to her. She'll come to me 90% of the time if I get down, hold out my arms and say, "I need huggies!"
