| How Much Did Your Yorkie Cost? How much did your Yorkie(s) cost?? I wonder what the average price is. I know prices are going up drastically in NY and I'm just curious what we all generally paid. You can select multiple numbers if you have more then one Yorkie. PS - This poll is private -- so no one will see your results.

| Yes, I agree with you. Vets are also very high in NY. I would love to have another but the vet bills scare me. Especially the unexpected. Pet insurance is a must and that is $300.00 a year. I envy those who have 2,3 and more. I have no idea how they do it. This post should be very interesting. Carol |

| Vets are so expensive in Brooklyn. I have 2 dogs and I'm bringing home my 3rd dog in November. I have an "emergency" credit card with a zero balance just for my dogs -- I never charge anything on it. It's strictly for my babies in case (god forbid) emergency vet care is ever needed.

| I have the same card but never used it. When Buddy became very sick and was hospitalized in 09/05 for four days the bill was $2,000.00. No real diagnosis! Thought maybe poison or perhaps a nylabone. They found gritty material in the lower intestine. They were not sure what caused his sickness. I paniced about the $. They told me about the card you mentioned and I opened it but deceided to take money from a retirement fund instead. I didn't want the added bill to worry about. I honestly can say I did not spend $2,000.00 on the two dogs I had for 16 and 17 years respectfully. Once a year to the vet and that was it! They were never sick. I only had Buddy for less than a year and this happened. Thank heavens he is fine today and no more nylabones of anykind for him. Always expect the unexpected! |

My credit card is not for yearly vaccines or routine colds. I am saving it for something serious -- like what if Codie was diagnosed with heart disease and immediately needed rush surgery that same day?? I'd charge it all and not have to worry about paying for it on top of worrying about Codie's recovery. What can I say? I worry a lot.

| Thiis is a very interesting thread. I do wish somehow the price paid could be paired with other characteristics though, such as how much for what you consider show quality or how much you paid for your 3 pound baby or your 14 pound teapot. I guess that would be pretty hard to do, huh? |

My furkids Donating Member | WOW! seems like most members paid around the $500.00 mark! Wish I lived where you are! I paid $1000.00 for Sadie and $1300.00 for Lillie. The litter that Lillie came from the males were being sold for $1000.00 and females $1600.00 I got 300.00 off because she was the second pup I bought from this breeder. Out this way Yorkies tend to be up there in price and, these are not show quality...

| I paid: $1,000 for Codie $1,200 for Katie $1,600 for Tia Plus I'm getting Cali in November (yay!!) But the price of my dogs is nothing compared to the love they give me -- I would have definitely paid more for them!
