| Do you brush your Yorkie's teeth? Do you brush your Yorkie's teeth? Just curious as to whether that is something that should/needs to be done or not. I live w/ my girlfriend, and I absolutely fell in love w/ her Yorkie (now OUR Yorkie) so I want to do everything I can for our little guy. Wasn't sure if this is necessary/recommended. |

| Yup, I brush Bailey's teeth once a day. Yorkies are notorious for having dental problems, so it's a must |

| I brush Otis's teeth more than I brush his coat. Actually, I brush Otis's teeth more than I brush my own hair. |

| I actually bought a lil tooth brush and tooth paste for him at petco. The vet Highly recommended that i brush his teeth. He said that Yorkies have dental Problems. i have to fight with him to brush his teeth. He refuses to do so. It's hard work and sometimes i give up and buy him greenies. It's funny cause he doesn't even like the greenies all that much either. But yes I do brush his teeth. |

| We SHOULD brush his teeth every day, but we end up only doing it every 2-3 days b/c he hates it so much, lol. But we definitely brush his teeth....we've heard how much doggie dental work can cost if we're not careful now.

| The earlier the better. I use Petrodex. It is a struggle to brush Gus' teeth. It is really difficult to get the back ones. I've seen dogs who have lost them though so I don't want that to happen to him.

| I brush my pups teeth every couple of days. I would do it more often but it is truly a bear to do.

| I started early brushing Caesars teeth. I bought from Wal-Mart a baby looney toon Daffy tooth brush and only brush with water. I heard you shouldn't start tooth paste until 6 mo....anyway....I noticed that he hangs out with me when I get dressed and he wants so bad to get on the sink. so that is when I started (12 wks or so) I just wet it and say scrub, scrub, scrub in a funny voice. He of course tries to bite, eat the brush but I hold his bottom jaw with the other hand and just keep saying me thing. When my breeder saw him on tuesday she went nuts over his teeth. they are so white....I said of course we brush them everyday. I just don't want him to get old and be toothless so I fight alittle with him and apparently it is paying off........... Also you may remember that he had that problem with eating his poop before the deter pills and you don't want a kiss after that so if he tried and I smelled it I would automatically got get the tooth brush. |
