Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Is your Yorkie picky about his or her food or water bowl? Is your Yorkie picky about his or her food or water bowl? If you change it, will they refuse to eat? I ask because Eddie will do that. If I absentmindedly place Jillie's food bowl in front if him, he'll just stand there and stare at me until I figure out my mistake. Jillie, on the other hand as I found out today, could care less. I placed Eddie's bowl in front of her -- a bigger bowl with twice the food -- and she gobbled it up instantly without complaint. That's been a bit of a problem on campouts when I bring travel bowls. Eddie sometimes refuses to eat unless I hand feed him. Wondering how everyone else's Yorkie behaves about such changes.

| My Scotty and Jilly were both very picky about their food bowls, at first Jilly had to eat from food laid out on a paper towel(!), but Tibbe will eat or drink from anything.

| Cody is a fantastic kid, he's not picky about anything. Just on trail walks, I put his bottled water in a glass jar and take his regular water bowl with me, he's panting like all get out but, but will not drink that water. He will wait until we get home to drink the same water, but poured from the bottle that the water comes in. Thank goodness the trails are only 20 minutes from the house.

| Mine don't care which bowls they eat out of but they HAVE to have their bowls placed on the floor in the same order! Tikka has to eat first, then Vindi then Curri!

Other times, if he won't eat, I know I can always feed him by hand. He loves thinking he's special.

| Once in a while Dexter drops bites of food in between the food bowl and water bowl. The bowls are in a wire container. He gets to whining about the food he can't reach even when he still has food in the bowl

I mix veggies in with their food as a filler, and if I don't blend it, Eddie will pick out the green stuff and set it on the ground. If he's hungry, he'll eat it at the end by itself. More often, he leaves it there.

| Lilo likes her food scattered on the floor. Sometimes she'll eat from my hand, one kibble at a time. Ughhh |

| This is my first time of owning a teacup Yorkie. We have had her 2 months and I am trying to learn everything I possibly can. I am disabled and was very alone especially during the day until my husband got DJ for us. From that moment on DJ (she) has changed my life completely. I love her more and more each and every day. She just turned 12 weeks old and the breeder told us not to take her outside until after she turned 12 wks old. When we took her to vet for her last shot for that age group he told us we could go ahead and bathe her (10 wks) due to the few fleas I found on her and tried to kill myself. He didn't tell us how often we could bathe her, can anyone give me some advice? The vet told us to use Dawn dish washing liquid to kill the fleas. I counted 5 that it killed; however I found another one and she got sick from eating a flea with tape worms another trip to vet. I bathe her again and killed 3 more. We have not taken her outside and do not have any other animals. I was getting ready to bathe her again when I came across this site. I would appreciate any help. Thank you, Debbie I look forward to becoming active and getting to know people on this site. Have a great afternoon. DJ and I thank you. |
