| Sometimes depending on the words they use. Peanut, little bugger is fine by me but a rat...no no.

| it depends...... If they call them cute names I don't mind one bit. if they're "not nice" names...I blow them off because they're worth my time. They obviously not Yo-Yo's like me....so it doesn't matter. Be Who You Are, Say What You Feel Those Who Mind, Don't Matter Those Who Matter, Don't Mind

| I mind when people call him a mop or a rat. I think South Africans have a thing against smaller dogs (or at least most people in the circles I am in). Since I got Cash, I have had my family stating that he isn't a worthy dog. They have since come around and even my dad (not really an animal lover - he believes that dogs should never be in the house), started playing with Cash. I have had guys (who were flirting with me a minute before seeing Cash), call him a mop or a rat. Then these guys can't understand why I don't like them anymore or why I don't want to go out with them. Anyway, I find that it is a great way to filter the people that I let into my life. I would never say anything nasty or mean about another person's dog, so the people that do don't belong in my life. Ps. I used to fall for the worst of guys (I am 23 and happily single), but since I got Cash, he is able to let me know when the guy is a good one.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | It doesn't bother me when friends are teasing, but I voted "yes" because I had one experience that was particularly rude. A stranger shouted to a friend "Oh, look at the rat dog" when looking at Eddie. I must have given her a confused look because she looked at me and said "That's right, I'm talking to you." I was offended but realized she was just trying to get my goat. I didn't want to give her the satisfaction, so I ignored her. I kept hoping to bump into her again, though, when I was more prepared to get in her face. People don't realize that their casual comments are about pets that we love.

| Nobody's really called Sapphire anything... Not strangers anyways... My mom and dad do though... But I'm used to it now. Psycho Dog, Poop monster, those kinds of names. I guess they're not soo bad. They could be worse. We do call her a little rat when she's wet though. But only because she really looks like one!

| I don't mind if they're pet names... I call Bailey my prince or pumpkin or my boyfriend calls him Beetle Bailey. But if someone calls him a drowned rat or says he's not a dog, then I get upset!

| No. People who approach us always have a smile and say how cute he is. Body language is so important. Usually, I will be asked his name.

| I think because overwhellingly people say awwww when they go past, the odd person calling him a 'drop kick dog' (my brother) or a rat doesn't really bother me that much. They're only trying to be funny which obviously doesn't work.

| so far no one has called either any names, they just say how cute and adorable they are. Friends sometimes will tease and make up names but only in jest so I don't take any offense to that as I sometimes will do this as well depending on how ornary the dogs are being.
