| How accurate was the x2, x3 formula on weight for you? How accurate do you find the weight formula given many times to estimate the adult weight of a yorkie? If you are unfamilair with the formula its take your yorkie puppies weight at 8 weeks and triple it or take the yorkies weight at 12 weeks and double it to get an estimated adult weight. In example; 8wk old puppy 2 lbs= 2x3= 6 lb adult yorkie 12 wk old puppy 2 lbs= 2x2= 4 lb adult yorkie I am very interested to see how many of you who knew your yorkies weight at these ages and now have an adult dog (8mths or up) find this formula pretty accurate or inaccurate. Please write a reply if you like too, such as the wt difference from formula! Also if your dog was in good health or undernourished when you bought him or her. |

| Mia was 14 ounces at 12 weeks and was exactly double that at 9 months, to the ounce! She's been filling out though the past couple of months so she has probablt gained a couple of ounces but not much! |

| Schatzie's guestimate was way off. Her breeder guessed that she would be about 4-5 pounds and she is now 7.5 pounds. Of course there are a lot of factors that play into this too. For instance the amount I feed her, how much exersize she gets, etc. I adore Schatzie to pieces, words cannot describe. However personally I do wish that she was smaller (3-5 pound range). She was even the runt of the litter, ha ha. But God made her just the way she is and I am very thankful for her tiny or big.

| My Yorkie, Scruffy was 1 1/2 pounds at 13 weeks, and now he is between 3 and 3 1/2 pounds at almost a year, so, it was pretty accurate for me. My Maltese was 1 1/2 pounds at 8 weeks and she is now 5 1/2 pounds, so, the 8 week weight was not as accurate as the 12 week weight. Karen |
