I chose Savanna, GA. I've always wanted to go! It's not too long of a flight (Daisy cant fly longer than a few hours)

I can't wait to see what location will get picked!

Teri I am kinda like you . . .Seattle is practically my home since I go there often BUT at the same time this is my opportunity to visit places I have not gone before . .decisions, decisions, decisions.

I know it's hard isn't it!
I'm torn because I'm familiar with Seattle and I know it's a great dog city and the climate would be pretty mild for the dogs, I know everyone worries about the rain, but it's not hot & humid like alot of places in the south!
I'm trying to mull over my choice!!

As it gets closer and the destination is picked, if it's in Savannah or NC, maybe we can get a couple other people from the Tampa area and all drive up together?

Savannah is a historic city. They have tons of tours of the historic part of town. In the historic part there is a street called "River Street" that is on the Savannah River and you can watch the shrimp boats and other boats come in. I can remember my dad taking me there when I was younger and getting icecream at the candy shop, then sitting and watching all the boats come in. It was pretty cool... of course there is a lot of other things to do and the beach is only about a 15 min drive from SAV.

I've been there a couple times on day trips from Hilton Head and from what I remember it's a pretty easy city to get around. It seemed pretty compact and easy to walk to places. We toured some old houses around the main square ( where the Forrest Gump bench is ) and walked to alot of the shops and restaurants right near there.
It was nice! I don't remember if hotels were right in that downtown area or if you have to drive out? It would be nice to stay where it's convenient!

I have driven thru...but never stopped. It seems to be so beautiful there.
I did some research and there are at least 5 dog friendly resturants!
There is a park for pups and there is a dog friendly walking tour of old historic Savannah.
gets my vote.

I do have tons of family in Arlington but are of a different culture and dont believe animals belong in the house
It would be hard for me to go there.
I've always wanted to go to Savannah too and eat at paula's restaurant!

I have too, in fact I was looking at her site in case Savannah wins out and her restaurant also does catering/delivering service for lunch and dinner!

Well, if I go I will definitely turn this into a vacation. And I have gone to another city and boarded my animals.

Matter of fact - I'm going on a vacation for a week this summer in South Dakota and I'm visiting 2 very small towns before I get to my final locale and I creatively found one gal that pet sits in De Smet, SD (Laura Ingalls Wilder's home once) - this gal only pet sits in other people's homes, but I got her convinced to take my 2 for 12 hrs. Then we're going to the Badlands and I found a vet nearby who does not do overnight boarding, but said they would keep them for a day.

So, I bet you could find pet care in San Diego, hop down to Mexico for a few days then come back up to San Diego and fly out from there

There are some serious drug wars going on in that area of Mexico and people are being killed-alot. You don't want to cross into that section of Mexico. It is very dangerous.
