I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | A few months for Stedman, not as long for Tatum. Maybe 3 weeks (not including the 2 weeks I had to wait to bring her home until she turned 12 weeks old) or so max? It's so hard to remember

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Good question, but a tough one for me. We wanted a small dog, but we weren't actively looking for a Yorkie when a friend offered up Eddie because she was allergic to him. Then I was toying with the idea of getting a second. I saw an ad in the paper and got Jack. I think I checked "other."

| It took me almost two years to decide. I just wanted to be sure and I am very happy with my decision.

| 2 years for me. I was in the start of my second year of college, and I thought I wanted a little dog and I fell in love with yorkies. I was actively looking at breeders for about 3 or 4 months before I got Layla just before my last year of college.

I Love Thor Donating Member | I suppose I'm 'other' too. I'd been wanting a yorking for years, but was in college, lived at home, and was broke! I got Thor as a present. And Harry, well since I was going to be moving out, and my dad loved Thor so much, when an adoption came up on YT, I jumped at the opportunity, and had Harry in a matter of days! |

| Years & Years,.... I've wanted a Yorkie for as long as I can remember....hmm..probably around 30-35 years, give or take. When everything ended up falling into place it took me only 1-2 weeks. I was lucky enough to find a good breeder in my area (The Sticks) who just happened to have one male puppy at a reasonable price. She brought the pup to my office, I had the cash in hand and..voila: I fell in love The rest is history. Best decision I've ever made

| i couldent find a female yorkie in my area for months so i went on line and after looking for days at over 500 yorkies i finnaly found my brooklyn. she really found me because every one i looked at i kept going back to her. this lady on line took the sister to brooklyn and when she went to pick her puppy up she ask if she could take brooklyn to the vet when she took her puppy. she felt sorry for the puppy because they were both infested with fleas and living in a cardboard box. thats when she ask the breeder if she could keep the other puppy and try to sell her online for her . she ran the add and i fell in love with her right away. we got her right before thanksgiving and now she is our little spoiled princess terryy brooklyns mommy |

| Impulse Buy-3 Days! I did'nt know about Yorkie Talk and unfortunately I did not do any specific research on the Breed until after I got one. I was in Boston, we were walking around a Park, a Lady with a 3 yr. old son and a 4 1/2 lb. male Yorkie. That was the day I fell in Love with them and I had to have one! That was on a Thursday and I had my first boy within 3 days that Sunday. His Breeder saw me coming a mile away, she took full advantage of my Ignorance, "He's a Teacup, he won't get any bigger than 5 lbs. maximum he's 10 1/2 lbs. now. I learned my Lesson, never buy a dog off the Internet! The 2nd one, Abigail I researched her Pedigree and everything, that took me 1 1/2 yrs., her Breeder was Honest, she told me flat out she would be 10 lbs. Her Breeder made up for the first one, 3 yrs. later and we are still friends and I even spend "Thanksgiving Dinner" with her and her Family, Abigail's Mother and Brother too. She mentored me, as far as Breeding my 2, and that's how I got "Tiffany Aloha", she is only 4 1/2 lbs. and almost 2 yrs. old so I know she really is not going to get any Bigger! I sold 1 puppy to a Great Family, that visits twice a Year, so I still get to see him! And the other 1 a female, unfortunately was Beaten to Death, by a co-worker that I gave to her for "FREE" b/c she couldn't afford one. Forget all the "Contracts". It hurt me so bad that I couldn't stand to look at her, to this day she still doesn't know why I'm so upset about it she said "It's just a F'ing Dog, what's the big deal"? I no longer Breed my Yorkies, since I got what I wanted the first time, besides that my Goal was to improve on what I already had, just on a smaller scale. Sorry this post is so long, I love Yorkie's, but I learned the hard way that "Everybody may want one, but not everyone Deserves one"? They are alot of work but they are worth it, all 3 are priceless to me! |

| it took me two years to convince my husband then another 6 months to find one. I guess that it will take me at least another year to find another one. |

| I voted other. I was actually looking for a small breed puppy from rescue for my sister.. cause I knew she would buy from a mill, byb, whatever unless helped along. IT was at that time i found the ad for Slade. I sent it to my sis, but she wasn't interested since the pups weren't born yet (my sis is an I want it NOW type person), but I got interested and emailed the rescue. I would love a purebred rescued yorkie ONE day when my life is more stable.. hopefully once i start looking it won't take too long.
