My Tessa was microchipped when she was spayed. I did it because if we move to a big city I want the peace of mind that if she ever goes missing my info will be on her!

I got my little girl microchipped when I took her to the shot clinic at the Humane Society. It was a great price!! She was so tough too.. no cries or blood, the vet tech said she did better than the big boxer they did before her!!!

No. I just never wanted it done to him.
He is never without me. Sometimes I think I should have but
I just never did it. I have a problem with a foreign object being
implanted under his skin. Silly me but that's why it was never done.

I will see if there is a humane society here and see how much it costs. Otherwise, it is like $50 each at the vet; $150

If you lived near me it would, cause you could go there instead lol! I'm sure if my vet has it cheaper, then you can find it cheaper there too. Have you called other vets and seen if the price was better?

I did call another vet, and honestly, it was more expensive!!
I am going to call the humane society and see if they have any program where I can get it cheaper.

I highly recommend it but not when they are awake. If i ever have Kissy put out for anything, i'll have her done. They didn't have it availalbe 7 years ago when i got her.
I've always had my pets done whilst they're awake, when they get their vaccination at 8 weeks. None of them have ever even flinched, the chip only goes into their skin not into their flesh so its no more painful than a jab. The needle is like the type they use in hospitals to attach a drip, I've had this done and its really not bad at all! I've even had baby ferrets chipped and they are really tiny, but it never bothered them. I'm guessing a lot of people on here have yorkies with docked tails (its banned here in UK), this involves chopping through flesh and bone much worse in my opinion!!!

Love

I voted yes as I couldn't vote yes and no Mica is tatooed but Kali is microchipped. I guess it depends on the breeder's preference. LOL Cory

One of the members on here posted an article that was from A&M University about cancer in relation to the chip. Gave me some food for thought. So when she was spayed on Friday I opted not to do it. For the time being I think I will watch it closely and think about it.

Hi..did your Lu Lu pass away on December 31, 2007? I had to write to you as our older Yorkie Shasta passed away on New Years Eve day (December 31, 2007). It is so hard to see them go as they are certainly family. We still miss our Shasta very much. I'm sure she is looking down on us now. Take care. LOL Cory

Yes I lost her on New Years Eve about 6:30.....so sorry for your loss. Believe me I know the little nut bag is watching down over me. Hoping she knows I miss her.

All of our babies are micro chipped. I know first hand how well it works. I have placed many dogs into good homes and have had 3 of them get out of there yards and get lost and a vet or animal control has called me to let me know that my dog was found and I in return called the new owners and let them know there dog was found. Wonderful feeling
