Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | How long is your Yorkie's hair? I know there are a lot of gorgeous, long-haired Yorkies around here, but I've seen a lot of shorter-haired Yorkies as well. This poll is to see what YT has more of and why.

| Short and easy I don't have the time to comb Marty's hair. I'll keep his cut short and then he can go hiking in the summer.

| Kaba's hair does not tangle at all but I can't get it to grow out. So technically its still a short look. The day I can actually put a top-knot in her hair, I'm going to rejoice!! At this rate(she's 8 months) she is going to be 3 years old by the time she has long hair!!!

| Bella has a cottony coat. I swear she matts if the wind blows! I just had her cut short and kept her face long and am loving it. I do prefer the look of a longer coat though.

| I go for the full monty - long coat, topknot, etc. It is a ton of work, but I love a long flowing coat.

| I Groom Them! I personally Groom all 3 of mine, Artie is 4 yrs. old with a full/long coat topnot with a bow and I braid his Tail with a bow too! I bathe and blow dry once a week, I clip their nails and do their "Sanitary Shaves" (their private parts), trim the hair in between and around their paws/toes. My other 2 females Abigail & Tiffany Aloha have long coats too but their hair between their eyes is clipped and their eye brows are cut like bangs, just because it's easier and they do not like wearing topnots but they will tolerate 2 ponytails. Daily they are alot of work, they all have to be brushed twice a day at least, and I wash their eyes out with a wash cloth and brush their teeth. It' worth it when I take them out and I get alot of compliments, people always ask where I get them Groomed at? Abigail is 3 yrs. old and Tiffany Aloha is going on 2 yrs. old their coats aren't as thick or grows as fast as Artie's. I taught myself how to do it after I got Abigail, since it cost me double to go to the Groomers and the always messed-up anyway, what's the point if they don't do it right? I just followed the Breed Standard that was outlined in all the Yorkie Books that I have read. |

| I like the long hair look but Hot Rod's hair was so straggly that I decided to cut it short and start from scratch. Hopefully it will come in thicker and at a more even pace, somewhat. I do like the short look however.

| My little Addison has a longer coat, not to the floor, but sliky and pretty. Now my little monkey Brady, he has a short coat to begin with and I had to get him shaved yersterday! He is having the time of his life getting out of being brushed. His puppy hair is just so fine that it was matting close to his skin and he would cry when I brushed him! So Mike, to answer your question, I like the long look of the yorkies just fine but the short cut rules!

YT 2000 Club Member | Jeter just turned 6 months old this Sunday and i am letting his hair grow out for now. I love the long show coat look, but i think that a Yorkie is cute in any hair cut!

| I like the long look but only 1 out of the 3 of mine have a long coat!! I think they personally choose their look themselves!! My two older yorkies, Mindy and Booboo, always hated topknots, clips or anything that I would put in their hair! Also, even to this day after they are bathed they want to go and mess themselves up. So for my own sanity and theirs I just keep them in puppy cut. Brooke on the other hand is a bit prissier and has silkier hair! It's still a pain sometimes, especially when she rolls in the leaves!!
