I'm jusr curious...

I haven't used anything on Ellie in awhile. She doesn't really get fleas to often. I think I would go the Dawn dish soap route next time and hope to never use an actually preventative again. But for those who need to use them, what one do you use?

I usually give a tab of brewers yeast with garlic and I use the minksheen shampoo on my babies.

I used Frontline for years, but it stopped working for me this past summer and I had a big problem with fleas. I switched to Advantix (not Advantage - not waterproof) and have stuck with it ever since.

We use Revolution, as is guards aginst heartworms as well. So far we have been very pleased.

We've been on the Revolution for puppies/kitties that treats fleas and heartworm and I love it....no reaction and not one flea..but then again I'm a freak about this so we get our yard treated too.

We use Frontline Plus during flea season but I don't keep it on my dogs 365.

Dawn is great for fleas...but here's a little test. Wash YOUR hair with the dish soap. Dawn strips the hair and leaves a nasty coat.

I was thinking that Dawn would do something like but I guess a messed up coat is better than the side effects from these pesticides (like liver damage). Some of them are certainly better than other though.

Someone I know used one of the flea products listed above once on her dog and the dog had an itching and restless reaction to it. The company said give her a bath in Dawn and put vitamin E on her.

It's been months since I've used any flea preventative on Ruby. I did use Revolution and would go back to it, if this summer they start getting fleas.
