I think it would be fun to see how long most of us have owned yorkies. Please respond for any yorkie you have owned in your life, even if you were a child and it was technically owned by your parents.

Although I have always been a "yorkie fancier" for as long as I could remember, I had to wait until my children were older and so I just got my first yorkie in December, 2004!

I got my first yorkie from a boyfriend when I graduated high school ...1985....she lasted 15 years...( Cyndie Lu Hoo)....I got her a playmate after 7 years....A 2 pound little girl named Lexie Lu Hoo.....she died after 7 1/2 years...I was lucky to keep her that long....she wasn't supposed to make it through the night....I have waited 2 long years before I decided to go at it again....This time I got a little boy....I am in love....in love with a yorkie....

We have only had Teddy since March, but the impact he

My mom and I got our yorkie about 10 yrs ago, unfortunately she passed away though. Then, after my husband and I got married last year, we got our own yorkie who we've had a year and 3 months.

Jeremiah is my first yorkie and I got him the day before he turned 6 months. He just turned 7 months June 27. So I had him for about 2 months or ago. And it is the best two months of my life.

I adopted a 6 yo rescue yorkie about 8 years ago. It was love at first sight. We had him for 6 years. I just got Trevor in December 2004. Would get another in a heartbeat if DH would let me.....

I have had Rio for 3 yrs, I never wanted a yorkie, the ones I had known were hyper yappy little dogs. My daughter wanted a yorkie. Now I have 2 and she has -PEKIGNESE. LOL.

Rio stole my heart, and now we have Mignon and she is the most darling baby ever.
Oddly enough, neither of them are hyper yappy dogs LOL.

Like Villette, I spent a long times wanting a yorkie and researching the breed - almost 7 years. I've had my Dash for ONE WEEK TODAY!!!! Haha!! What an amazing week it has been!!!!!!!!!!! Our house will never be the same - I don't know how we went this long without one!!

Sounds like a long tie dream come true for a lot of us who pined for a yorkie for years before actually getting one. I am definitely in that boat and am glad I finally got mine, even if they are addictive!
