| Under $200 Hi everyone, I'm not well versed in the world of cameras, and I'm currently looking for one...unfortunately as of right now my purchase would be based on how cute the camera looks and online ratings (lol). Clearly, I'd like to base my decision on something more substantive so, if anyone has any suggestions on what to look for and even cameras that they might like I'd really appreciate it. I understand $200 might be a bit on the lower end, however I'm a college student with a new furbaby so funds are a bit low at the moment!! |

| Ha ha you sound like me! I'm broke too and cuteness definitely played a major role in my camera decision. I got the Nikon S4000 in pink and I looove it. It's super cute and touchscreen. I got mine for $130 on Black Friday, but Best Buy has it for $118.99 right now with free shipping! http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Nikon+-+...&skuId=9779807 I read the reviews on the other colors before I bought mine bc the pink one doesn't have too many. Also, do you happen to know anyone that works in an electronic store at all? My brother is the manager of Best Buy here so I always have him buy my stuff when buying something that's kind of expensive so I can get his employee discount. You can always do that so you can get a good camera at a cheaper price Good luck! Last edited by Pinky94; 01-09-2011 at 08:43 PM. |

| I just got the Nikon S6000. I have only used it a few times but I am happy so far. It was about $150.00.

| I just got the Canon SD 1400 IS. It's so small and it takes wonderful pictures for a novice like myself. I absolutely love it. It also takes HD video, which is really nice considering I paid $140 for my camera.

| Thank you all for the suggestions! I went with the Nikon S4000 because it was the cheapest!! Fortunately since I haven't had a camera in MANY years my threshold for expectations was low, but either way this little camera works wonderfully!!!

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | My daughter works at Best Buy and wanted the Canon Powershot for Christmas because of all the good feed back she heard about it. She's very pleased with hers. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Canon+-+...&skuId=9766864

| My husband bought me a Sony Cybershot 5 years ago and it's just now starting to not work so well and it's taken some pretty good pictures. Back then they only had one or two models but now I've noticed that they have a bunch of different models on different ends of the price spectrum and have gotten some nice features. I'm going to be in the market soon for a new camera and will be buying another Sony Cybershot - I think I saw two of their models at Sears this weekend on sale for $99.
