| Has anyone looked into mirror less cameras? They are compatible to the lower end dslr and are 1/3rd smaller or more. |

| I was looking at those recently and seems like not enough people know about them or have experience with them. Of course I like the smaller size and the changeable lenses. But are the sensors just as big? The price seems the about the same as entry level dslr's I am looking at. I would think they would charge more of a premium for it's new look and smaller and more modern style. I really like the vintage looking Nikon but it's way out of my budget. Still no luck on Craigslist. Now that I know a bit more about the Nikon models, seems like most have the older ones (5+years) with about 10-12 or so mp. Does a higher mp really equal better image quality? Or does it just make the file size bigger?

| Also I don't get how the viewfinders work on the mirrorless cameras if there's no mirrors?

| I mean how many people for example on YT have the mirrorless vs dslr? Not a lot. I do like them. I agree they are the future. But I don't like to buy new technology in the first few years. Not a lot of competition makes it more expensive. Just like when the first 80" tv came out. OMG it was too pricey. Now everyone makes one and it's a lot cheaper. Now off to do more research.

| Oh that a6000 is out of my budget! $800 with a lens. I'm looking at $600 max.

| I'm leaning towards the older NEX5 model vs the a6000. I think the major difference is no viewfinder and no flash, but supposedly you can add one and it does well in low light you almost never would have to use the flash anyway. Also it's only about $400 ($600 with a lens).

| Ok I found a deal! Got the Nex7 with a basic 18-55 lens. It was an open box buy with warranty and free returns for $395! No shipping or tax either! Apparently this model has an actual viewfinder where the Nex5 does not and the shoe(?) to attach a flash is the normal kind where on the 5 it is not and people complained about that. It should arrive in 4-6 days and I'll report back! Just need a zoom lens and I think I should be good for a while!

| The shoe for the flash I never even use mine. Most likely you will have enough flash. This is when you get into pic. Flashes can cost alot also and if you were into that you would have a better camera. Whe you get it if you don't like it you have the option to return so thats good. |

I was able to get good pics (where people actually complimented them) on a cruise forum that I'm on with my little Panasonic Lumix point and shoot, but only when it was bright light outside. Indoors it's not that great. I wanted something to take better pics indoors and low light and I was not going to get that in any point and shoot. I never looked into getting a dslr before bc they are so big. The D3300 is supposed to be the smallest dslr and I still thought it was big! And you're right, if I never use the camera what is the point of getting it.

| Can't wait to get it. Lots of good info on that DP site you mentioned. Though the black background with white type makes it very difficult for my eyes to read. I found another site with nice BIG font size LOL.
