| *****R.I.P., Twinkies***** Sadly, Hostess Brands, Inc. has filed a motion with the Bankruptcy Court seeking permission to close business operations and sell its assets due to a union strike. All of my life I've had Hostess Cupcakes and Twinkies! Not often but when a comfort snack was in the offing, that wonderful chocolate-covered, creme-filled cupcake was there at the store, waiting to be bought and brought home for just the right time. I've loved Twinkies, too. Right now Hostess Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins are in my freezer. One of those little cakes is instant bliss. I hate when childhood icons go away and life is sadder for it. I'll miss you, Twinkies!

| I am sure there are a lot of people wondering where their future comfort snacks are going to come from. I don't buy their products, but that's mostly because my DH has no self control when that kind of stuff is in the house.

| Whats even more sad is another 18,500 jobs lost in the US.

| ....and not only are those of us who have ingested an occasional one of those delights over all these years, being glob smacked by this event, THIS MEANS MORE UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE!!! More people having to rely on unemployment benefits!! Wonder where THESE people will get health insurance from, since it wont be from an employer. As that cliff comes rushing towards me, I am looking for parachutes!!! But then, this may all be a moot point......remember, the World is scheduled to end the middle of December, according to the Myans (sp?)..... |

| Our local news showed bunches of Ebay ads for Twinkies and one Buy It Now ad with a price of $5,000.00! Twinkies is trending on Twitter. Hostess said they have very little product left now due to the strike.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I've heard it meant a big change, not the end of the world, but a huge change. Maybe that's the change, no more Twinkies in the stores!

| LOL. Well, some on the doc said per their study of the culture, it meant the end of the world and others said just likely atmospheric/environmental upheaval as the sun, milky way and ?the moon? - align on that date according to their "experts". And that hasn't happened in 26,000 years or something? I was only listening to it as I had the TV turned off and was only listening to the audio as I fell asleep. Anyway, all that aligning is scary as heck and all kinds of bad bad things are gonna do us all in that date - whether right at midnight or just whenever that date, they didn't get cover while I was still awake. But I'll bet that is it, 12-21-12 is when the last Twinkie disappears from the shelves or Internet or the day Hostess officially is shut down!!! Oh, don't think I can take it! I eat 2 Hostess cupcakes about every 2 years so you wouldn't think I'd be upset but it's just the very idea of this childhood comfort food just going away that's just not right!

| I used to eat Ding Dongs and the Cupcakes as a kid. Twinkies I'm sure I've had one or two in my adult life. Can't say I'm gonna miss them. I always wince when I walk by the end cap of where they're displayed at the grocery store. All those preservatives.

| LOL. You are right but when I am wanting a junkfood snack, preservatives are the last thing on my mind.
