| $$$$ Spicy Black Bean Burgers $$$$ I love love love spicy black bean burgers. I just bought 4 patties for $5 though Seriously, these things are black beans, veggies(corn, onion and peppers), bread crumbs and spices!! ALL cheap ingredients!! Has anyone ever tried to make their own? I found a recipe with over 1500 reviews. I'm going to attempt to make them this weekend

| I read through tons of the reviews. Big things I read were to rinse and dry the beans and to squeeze moisture out of veggies. Possibly add more bread crumbs and to freeze or partially freeze before cooking to help the burgers hold their shape!

| I would (as always) tweak the spices. I double or triple what is called for in recipes calling for high amounts of beans, potatoes or tomatoes. Those items tend to really "need" it. The reviews said the spice level could stand to be bumped up a bit too. My M.O. with burgers of any kind is to fry up a mini taster burger at different stages to see what the final product needs. Of course, I end up not being hungry for the final product that night

| Thanks for the recipe! Definitely going to try it. I love black beans. I have a recipe for Brazilian Black Bean Stew that is awesome. One day when I have some time, I need to post it.

| That sounds really good. I want to try it. I love the Morningstar spicy black bean burgers. They are so expensive though, I'll hardly ever buy them. Cook them with some onions in a little olive oil & a dab of sour cream. Mmmmm
