| I'll tell you how my Dad used to make pork chops. It's a very rustic type recipe. He would brown the pork chops in a little olive oil in a large frying pan. Then slice a large onion, add to pan and let that soften a little bit. Peel and cut up some potatoes and add that to the pan. Salt and pepper and a little water. Cover and simmer, stir occassionally. The potatoes and onions will get a nice amber color and get the taste of the pork chops. Add water from time to time so it doesn't dry out. The pork chops will be nice and tender. He didn't measure when he cooked, he just did everything by eye. He also made sausage like this too. Hope this is helpful to you!! |

I make a similar recipe -- I add a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of water, cover and either cook in my electric skillet or bake at 350 for an hour. | |

| That sounds so good!! I fixed pork tenderloin today and I just put a little oil in my electric skillet and brown them on both sides add water and cover and let them simmer until tender. I just use salt and pepper to season them. I am going to try the potato and onions next time, my bunch loves onions on everything

| The only way my mom used to make pork chops was to sear the sides by frying them in grease until brown. Then she put them in a caserole dish and dumped a jar (she canned her own but you can buy it) of saurkraut over them, and baked them for about 40 mins to an hour. They were always moist and yummy. I like saurkraut, but if you don't scrape it off and you don't notice the taste at all.

| I don't eat them but do cook them. I brine them minimum overnight with water, vinegar, sea salt sugar, whole peppercorns, celery, onion, garlic and carrots. Juiciest chops ever.

| Brining is the way to go with a lean cut like chops. It breaks down the muscle so it's nice an tender without it having the fat in there to be soft and tender. Google Melinda Lee and brine. She is a goddess!

| I'm not a huge plain pork chop fan, so I created this great pork fajita recipe. Cook pork (I usually use pork chops) in a frying pan chopped into strips or tiny pieces, then after almost cooked add: peppers onions, at least 2 cloves garlic etc whatever you like, Mix sauce then pour over and cook until it's thickened: -1tsp oregano -salt (pinch) -orange juice (2-3 glugs) -cumin -hot sauce or (BBQ sauce, chilli powder and cyan pepper) - a dash of vinegar as it starts to thicken you can either add the salsa in the pan to cook too or pour some salsa on the soft shell before stuffing and rolling (add cheese if you like too).

| My husband makes the best chops I've ever had. He likes bone in w a little fat rim on the side. He salts/peppers and then sears stovetop on both sides in a cast iron skillet. He then cooks in 350 oven w a little dark beer in the skillet w foil on top. I'm going to have to try the brining recipe. I have never brined! |

| Has anyone tried brining pork chops or chicken with beer on top of salt and sugar? I gotta imagine that must be not bad and quite surprised america's test kitchen did not talk about this. I mean it wakes up bratwursts so yeah Im about to put some in my brine right now and let y'all know later tonight how it went. I plan on frying them with a coat of italian bread crumbs. |

| Well I added a can beer to my bring for the last 2 hrs and the pork chops came out great. The hint of beer went great with the italian bread crumbs. I found it's better to dip the chops in 3 steps of flour>egg>bread crumb for better results. |
