| I would put an ad in the newspapers and then after 30 days if no one has claimed her/him -- take her to the vet and keep her as your own. But I am not sure there would be a time limitation if the original owners do turn up some day. My son had a very bad automobile accident on the highway coming to visit us. During the aftermath as they were trying to calm the children, their little poodle ran off. They put up signs, traveled the side roads, contacted police, animal control, and put ads in the papers. They are still hopeful after 2 weeks but it is looking like maybe someone picked her up and left the area. Maybe that is what happened to that little yorkie. Someone found her, but left the area where she was originally lost -- very hard to find owners then.

| I am in Washington and I remember seeing a posting on Craigslist about 2 weeks ago regarding a missing yorkie in Federal Way. Have you checked on Craigslist to see if anybody posted their Yorkie missing? I just looked on the site but I didnt see the listing for the missing Yorkie, maybe you could post that you have found the doggie. Good Luck Cindie |

| There is a good search function on Craigslist for finding particular ads. Just put Yorkie or Yorkshire terrier in the box and see what comes up. Also, have you had a scan done to see if she is wearing a microchip? If not, some veterinarian offices have the scan wand for it. You might give that a try. |

I certainly would check there. Looks like someone might be looking for her, however, because there are so many looking for Yorkies and will do anything to obtain one besides buying their own, be sure to ask a certain question about her that only you and her owners know. Like her color, ears up or down, long coat or short coat etc. Good luck to you if you do get to keep her. Carol & Buddy | |

| legally i believe it's 3 days and if my yorkie had gone missing you better bet i would be going crazy looking for her! you could ask vets offices but if they haven't posted adds or anything looking for her they may not have wanted the poor little dog and she's better off with you!

| I definately agree to take her to a vet to see if she's microchipped. Also maybe call some vets in the Federal Way area, the owner may have contacted them. This is from today's craigslist. Lost My Best Friend New Years Eve. Female Brown & Gray. 12lbs. Pink Collar w/tags. She is a Yorkie Poo that is grown out. Grace is her name and she is very timid of strangers. Her fur is shaggy and tail curls up. I am DESPARATE for her return. Offering a $500.00 reward for her return. Please help me find my dear friend. We will be lost without each other. Think she needs me as much as i need her. (there is a picture of her on craigslist) I think this was Marysville though, but who knows, maybe the people were visiting someone, or someone took her from here to Federal Way and she got out.

| this is definitely a purebred yorkie, not a mix. i checked the craiglist ads and posts, none of them match her description. theres two extremely obvious things about her and no one has gotten it right. i had three people call trying to claim her, one screamed at me that i had her little boy and i was LYING about it!! i have called the pound, the pound knows i have her, and nothing is there about her either. i took her to PetSmart and she is not microchipped. there are no signs even within a 5 mile radius of where i found her... so far, looks like nobody really cares about this lil girl...i hoped as much work as i have done would have gotten a few leads. i made an honest effort to find her family....you would think with the week of snow that her previous owner would be worried enough to put up a cardboard sign.

| A keeper! I would not do anything else..you have notified the pound and put up signs...that would be the first place an owner would look...keep her. I found a tiny female tiny Yorkie running along a big highway one time. I put up signs, contacted animal control and the humane society..nothing for 3 months. So I found a home for her...then at 6 months I had woman call and asked to buy a puppy. She said she lost her tiny female 6 months ago in the same area...she never called anyone..said she figured no one would return her as the same thing happened when her tiny Pom ran awy... so she just chalked it up as a loss...I am glad I found her and she did not get her back or a puppy...no clue why she did nto see the signs???? Every vet in town knew I found her.. |

OMG...i had my male stolen out of my yard last summer (i have a 4 foot fence). i posted lost dog signs immediately, and got a call from a woman who said she found my mangey dog on a main street a mile away. when i made arrangements to meet her, she brought my dog, and held him up at me. she then said i was a bad owner for letting him out, and he must not be mine since he didnt try to get away from her to get to me!! then she said she was keeping him because i obviously abused him by kicking him in the face since his lower jaw was broken!! poor tinker had had his lower canines pulled at a cheap vet in sequim, wa. who accidentally broke his jaw in two places (where the tooth roots were). she threw him in her car and took off! i called the police but they told me it was a small claims court thing and to take her to court! i only had her cell phone number...no name...i blew up her cell but she never called me again, then had her number changed... i am still hurt over him being stolen....but i lighten my heart by thinking she wanted him so bad...hopefully she has taken good care of him. i know i was frantic over tinker being gone...i cant believe nobody is out knocking on doors for this little girl.

| Did she look well taken care of? Unless she was obviously mangy and out there for awhile someone is missing her. I can't believe you haven't found signs of anyone looking for her. Wow!!! What a find. Congrats.

| I dread the thought of ever losing my babies...if that were to ever happen (I pray to God it doesn't) I would hope they would end up in the arms of someone who would love them as much as I do. If no one can tell you what this baby looks like dont get scammed. I would imagine that an owner would have a picture of their dog, unless its just me who takes enormous amounts of pictures of my furkids lol...good luck!! Cant wait to see pics of this baby!! Dawn |
