| We are looking for a small pet quality stud in the Boise area. Any recommended breeders in the area? Our "Dixie" is 3.5lbs, looking for simular size stud. Last edited by zracer; 11-02-2009 at 07:14 PM. |

| Our vet examined her and said she would have no issues, at least in her opinion. Your comment is well taken, we'll do some more investigation. Thanks. |

| I think it's time for a second opinion...that female is way too small for breeding no matter how small the stud is. You would be risking her life to do so.

| Just reading posts the last 20 minutes has put some serious doubt on breeding her. We certainly do not want to expose her to unreasonable risk. |

Please do a lot of reading, you have come to the right place. I would not breed any female unless 5 pounds or larger.. I would hope now you have seen some posting already that this does not turn bad.. Most vets know less about breeding yorkies the many breeders.. If I need help I would most likely get help from a fellow breeder then any vet..I must say however I am glad u came here prior to any breeding... welcome to Yt.. | |

| That's good to read! May I ask how old your Dixie is? If she is still young and 3.5 pounds then she might mature to the right size for breeding before she is ready. Please keep reading and ask questions...people here are very passionate about Yorkies whether they breed them or have them as pets.
