| Looking to adopt Hello - this is my first post. I have been researching Yorkies now for a couple months and feel a Yorkie would be my perfect fit. The only problem is I am so wary of puppy mills or irresponsible breeders. Does anyone have suggestions? I have found a place in Graham called Whispering Hills and another breeder up in Port Angeles. Suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated! THANKS a million! |

YT Addict | I am a breeder in Lower Alabama but I don't ship. But would love to help you in one way for sure. The way to stay away from puppy mills and bad breeders is DO NOT order a puppy like a shirt off the net. I know that sounds crazy but find a breeder close enough to drive to. Talk to them ask can you come look at their puppies, and Parents, where the dogs live and where the puppies has been raised. If they say no find a new breeder. Never meet anyone no matter what they say. And yes there will be breeders that will write in after me saying things like it is for their safty they don't let people in their homes. But I am telling you the only way you know for sure they you are buying from a good breeder is to see 1st hand where they raise their dogs!! And you may have to go to a few places before you find a good one. Trust me I have seen some mess in some of their homes and kennels. But there is some of us good ones out there. Good luck. |

| Miss Julie! Thank you for your kind response. My husband and I plan to visit one of the breeders who I have corresponded with via Email. The breeder does invite potential owners to view the sire & dame and their onsite kennel. Hopefully we won't find any sad circumstances once we visit. I agree with your advise whole heartedly and makes me feel substantiated in my views! It's so nice to have good ppl give out advice and direction! Have a blessed day. Thank you again! |

| Debby...I have a 10 month old yorkie boy, very healthy. He was a singleton. We were going to keep him, but have decided to place him. He is 4.5 lbs, potty trained, crate trained, socialized regularly with other dogs (I have two labs and two other yorkies, plus we go to yorkie meet ups to play). He loves to ride in the car, will sit and snuggle, but also loves to play fetch and wrestle. he's a dream dog, but won't fit into my breeding program, so i need to place him. He's so stinkin' cute...come and see him. i'm pretty close to you in Buckley. I'm asking $800, but may be negotiable to the right home. I want a really good home for him, since he has been well loved here... Attached is a photo from recently. I have his body cut down but not his head...I like his facial hair! Cute button face, small muzzle.... hope to hear from you... deb |

| We got our little yorkie in April from Mensonides Kennels just outside of Yakima, WA. Our little guy was about 1.5 pounds when we got him and is now nearly 2.8 pounds at 4 1/2 months and hasn't been sick a day in his life. He's very happy, loving, playful and healthy -and a good eater. And she's been more than available for any questions, etc we've had with him since adopting. I highly recommend this breeder.
