If you go to meetup.com, I know there is a yorkie meetup in Tacoma that you could look into. I'm not sure if they are active, but it would be worth checking out.

Perhaps the "poopers" and I can make this one...I have to say that I thought Magnussen park was a bit...well, like a desert last time I went...lots of sun, no shade and the grass was all dried up. Poor Chewy got really hot out there and kinda gave me a scare. Has anyone here ever tried Golden Gardens, or some of the other local dog parks?

I've tried the Golden Gardens one, and there's some HUGE dogs there, and last time we went, there was no section just for shy & small dogs. One big dog thought Yoda was lunch! And it was a bit messy there, lots of people don't clean up after their dogs.

Good points...I'm just such a shade-a-holic, I had to try! Chewy's had a few incidents up there with larger dogs also, so I totally understand that concern. It may also be furhter alieviated for me by my dog's unusual size for his breed (love them giant yorkies!). I tend to agree with everything, but the mess factor. I found Magnussen (when I last tried it) fairly poopy...perhaps I was there on a bad day. Ya know, it probably won't be nearly so stark if we can just get some actual Seattle weather on it! I hope I can make it and see you folks there!

I know what you mean about "being like a desert". If I had a big shade umbrella, I would certainly bring it. Last time, my broom skirt was a popular shade spot for the dogs, heh. (Or was that the month before?) But, it looks like we're having cooler weather. I think we will all enjoy it more so I'm looking forward to it. FastEddie - I know! This one seems to have come around so quickly! I need to wash Bodhi and RSVP on the Meetup.com site. We look forward to these so much as there are no small breeds at our neighborhood park up the block. Hubby and I have decided to get even more strict about letting Bodhi come close to the others. Larger puppy paws tromping on Bodhi scare me. The only other option we have is at Ahimsa's Saturday 20 pounds and less Puppy Play hour for $10. Bodhi is too shy to play with the rowdy ones and we get separated to one or two other dogs that are younger and just as shy that he is able to play with. *Daydreams* Someday, if we get a house with a nice yard and TREES, we'll host the meetups. Plenty of lawnchairs and a picnic table. A canvas tent with an outdoor heater for the dreary days. Maybe even have potluck....*continues to daydream*
