| "Lhasa Apso" in need of help. Boy has it been sometime that I was on this site . I hope that all is doing GREAT!!!!!!! We are doing ok, other then the dog thing. So here is the story. I have 3 female dogs. The 2 five year olds (LHASA and YORIKE) that we got together and then my Yorkies puppy, that she had about 2 years ago. Right now the Yorkie is going to have puppies soon. Well last night I was feeding the girls there night time food, well as I put down the food Peyton (yorkie) took off like a light and charged after Izzy (Lhasa) and started to fight with her. Well I was screaming and splashing water on them to get them apart. I got one picked up in my arms and the other one was hanging on to her leg and would not let go, I tried to pull open her mouth and the other one was biting me all up on my hands. Let me just tell you that it look like Texas chin saw massacre in my house. After 10 to 20 mins of them fighting and biting me I got them apart. The girls are ok and the puppies are too. My thing is that they have done this in the past, but not this bad, so now what am I to do. Do I get rid of one girl??? What can I do to make this not happen?? We are in need of some help and info!!!!!!! Thanks, Courtney and girls :0)

| Fighting Courtney, I have a male Yorkie & a male Shih-Tzu that fight when they get together. It had gotten so bad I now have them in crates while we are gone and when we are home I let one out at a time. They cannot be put out at the same time, they have always slept with me but it had gotten to the point where they would start fighting in the bed. I had thought about rehoming one of them but I don't think I can do it. My boys would get locked up like that & I would splash water on them & holler but it did no good. They eventually let go of each other. You may want to consider separating them, maybe since your Yorkie is pregnant it's the hormones getting to her. I know it's really upsetting to see & it took me a good while to calm down after their fights. Good luck! Pam |

| I don't know if the same applies but a few years ago I had two intact female labs (both dropoffs) well at first it was fighting over food then it escalated until they would fight till blood was pouring out until finally a few days after one huge fight I noticed one of the girls kept shaking her head, i figured another ear infection so I checked it out, well their ears are really floppy so I never saw that behind the ear there was a hole, the ear was ripped off her head! I had to have her put down because during surgery the vet found that the infection had gone into her skull and was eating the bone. Nevertheless I will not have two intact males or females, no matter how big or small they can get nasty imo.

| Wow, You are on the money and know what I am talking about. That is it, all of what you said happens at my house. The only thing is that they are females..........CRAZY I have had my girls all there life together, they still live in the same crate together and will not be in a crate with out each other. That is the funny thing, they love each other so much. I am at a loss of what to do with them. Talking to my husband he tells me that I am going to have to find a new home for one of them. I just dont know if I can do that. Quote:

| You're not alone. My little girl loves to fight with the other dogs. I try to pick them up to separate them, and one always lands up holding on. I yell, I scream, I squirt them, and they just won't stop. I've even gotten nipped in the process.

| I think what you need to do is call a qualified behavoirist in your area who can properly address why this is happening and give you methods on what to do before you think about rehoming one of the dogs. |
