| Hamster is sick.... Our male hamster, Presley, is really sick. We noticed 2 days ago that his tummy was huge. I talked with the vet yesterday and he suggested that the hamster was constipated and I should give him a soapy water enema. I did just what the vet said to do but he got worse overnight. I took Presley into the vet this morning and he is going to do an exploratory surgery. The vet thinks that he has a large mass inside of him. Prgnosis isn't good. Please say a prayer for Presley. The kids will be so heartbroken if something happens to him.

| Vet just called and they euthanized Presley. He had an absess and a ruptured bowl. I guess it was a mess. This is just so sad. The kids are going to be heartbroken when they get home tonight. I'm going over to the vets to pick up his body. We will have a nice ceremony tonight for him.

| I'm so sorry you lost little Presley. I was more devastated when we lost my dtr's hammy, L.L. Cool Ham, than I thought I could ever be. They are so tiny and defensless. Sending big hugs for your kids.

| We lost 17 gerbils in our house one time. We did find them all. Most of them were under the kitchen cabinets and had to be lured out with tasty food after they got hungry. Good luck.

| Good luck finding your lost hammies! Our hamster Lisa had 10 babies and they were about 3wks old when I went in for my hysterectomy in March. When I got home from the hospital I found all 10 baby hamsters had escaped!!! We found all but 4 hamsters. Then I caught 1 in a mousetrap in my kitchen. Then we heard 1 in the wall chewing. After making a hole in the wall we rescued him! We still have 2 hamsters unaccounted for. That was March this is May. I don't think we will ever find them. I hope they escaped the house and have gone to be wild and free.
