Donating YT 30K Club Member | Maya Update The specialist called me Monday and said to have Maya's bloodwork done since the ultrasound showed some diminished something of the kidneys. I went to our regular vet Tuesday and the bloodwork looked ok except her thyroid was low but that's because the specialist has had me weaning her off the thyroid medicine, Then the specialist called me yesaterday and said she talked to the cardiologist at her place and she wanted a chest Xray of Maya to see if her heart looked more enlarged, so off to my vet again today and I had to leave her for a few hours. I just got back from picking her up and the vet went over her xrays with me. Basicly, her heart is enlarged about the same as it was 6 months ago, her lungs are clear BUT her trachea is sverely collapsed about 1 /3 of the way down and for quite a lot of it. We discussed options and all are not condusive with treating Cushing's Disease. The vet said in fact the Cushings has probably been helping the trachea as it is produceing cortisone steroid which would be one of the treatments for the trachea. He said he would not put her under for the perianal hernia because of the trachea and all her other conditons. I am waiting now for the specialist to get all the reports and see where we go. I am so upset. She has so many different serious conditions. Please keep her in your prayers!! Thanks
