| Donating YT 14K Club Member  | She's precious! These dogs are so sweet and lovable! I had one years ago (when I was in college). My fiance was dead set against getting him. My mom didn't think I needed a dog, so they conspired against me. My mom found him another home and my fiance actually gave my dog to her to give away while I was at work. I was distraut. Broke up with the jerk a couple of months later and didn't speak to my mom for a long time. Horrible times.

We waited a bit, researched more on the breed and found Izzy by pure chance, (field bred) and preferred her coloring more so. This is one sweet dog I must say. I'm having to learn an entirely new grooming process with her other than what I'm used to with the yorkies. Her grooming is "similar" to a cocker, but still has a few different things. I studied a book which was an all breed grooming book. I noticed her grooming will be similar to that of a cocker spaniel, with the back clipped shorter and the bottom hair left long in what reminds me of a rug so to speak. Her ears are to be trimmed half way down if I am correct and the bottom of ears should never be trimmed straight across I beleive. If you have any pointers on grooming her, I'd greatly appreciate it as her breed and grooming are new to me and my daughter. All we know are yorkies! Thanks! | |

|  Spaniel Baby Woops,sorry, the names Lynne, I'm in Little falls, NJ, the pooky professor is my biz name. I am a puppy trainer here in northern NJ, majority of my clients are spaniels, yorkies & bulldogs. If you need any tips drop me an email! You are correct with the grooming, the longer hair underneath that you refer to as a rug is actually called a skirt-tee hee. I have my spaniel professionally groomed about every 6-8 weeks & I brush her 1-2x week with a slicker brush. I clean her ears once a week & I am trying to brush every other day becasue she has bad teeth. And yes thats her picture in the avatar! Good luck again! Woofs! Lynne
