| Update: Russ' min-pin died As you know, Russ (my son) had to have his cat, Buddy, PTS last week. Well, he and his wife also had an 11 yr old minpin named Mandy who died last night. She was blind and couldn't hear and my DIL was SO good with her. She actually carried her outside to potty and would let her lie in the sun and just soak it up. My DIL dearly loved this little dog and is just heart broken over her death. They brought her to my house last night and buried her beside Buddy, my son's cat. When Buddy was a kitten, Mandy mothered him just like he was her baby. She would groom him and "spoon" with him and Buddy just loved her to death. Is it possible that she knew Buddy died and grieved for him? Kim

| I am so terribly sorry about Buddy and Mandy. I believe that animals have inner instincts that we don't understand, so yes, I feel certain that Mandy grieved for Buddy. I know your entire family must be devistated. God bless and comfort you all.

| I absolutely believe animals have as many feelings as people do and they do grieve. I had a dog once that would actually cry real tears. He cried when I cried and when his "wife" an abused dog we took in died, he went into a depression and all he would do was lay on the porch, stare at the spot where she got hit by a car and cry. So, yes, I would agree in a heartbeat, that Mandy died of grief. I am so sorry your family has had so much heartache. At least you know that Mandy and Buddy are together again. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. (((Hugs)))

| When my neighbors beagle died, Jake wouldn't eat and just layed around for a week, he wouldn't even pick up his head and look at us, he just looked at the ground and would stand in front of my neighbors garage door waiting for Freckles....so sad...they were best friends. If he hadn't been so young and in good health he probably would have died from all the stress and not eating too. |

| Oh, I am soooo sorry for the loss of both of them! That is so sad! I too believe that animals "know" and feel things like we do - even though some scientists have not confirmed it...I believe it!

| Thank you all so much for your love and concern. I showed Russ and Stacey the threads about Buddy and Mandy and both teared up. They have a 2 year old Boston terrier named Sophie who is now wandering around trying to find both of her friends. She doesn't understand where they are and stopped eating for 2 days after Buddy died. She was just starting to perk up when Mandy died so they are really babying her right now. Remember them in your prayers. Kim
