| Escaped hamster...... We found him but at some point during the night he got into a mouse trap. He is growling and hissing and has a bloody eye. The kids are crying because he probably won't make it. I called my vet but he is out of town until Wednesday. I just don't know what to do for him.

| I called the vets in the phone book in this area and they all told me they don't really do hamsters and that there's not much they can do for him. They told me they suggest putting him to sleep. I am hoping and praying he makes it. He is sleeping right now. Since they are nocturnal creatures I will asses his condition tonight (if he makes it) and then decide on weather or not to have him put to sleep.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | That's so horrible. One of the reasons I won't do mousetraps...I always have a hamster. I hope the poor little guy makes it. Let us know!

| Update!!!! Elvis made it through the night. In fact I was sitting here by the computer last night and watched the little snot open his cage last night and try to escape again! I can't beleive he didn't learn anything from his first night of freedom. I kept him from getting out then I fixed his cage where he couldn't open it again! He is doing great! His bloody eye looks good too. I think he's going to make a full recovery. To be on the safe side though, I am going to take him to the vet on Wednesday when my vet comes back.
