| Emergency Vet! UGHHH Yesterday I went to pick up our cat Scooter and noticed a gaping hole in his leg. It looks fresh, but for some reason he wasnt at all bloody . We decided to take him to the vet, and it just happened to be right after they all close... soooo off to the emergency vet we go! I knew it'd be expensive, but my eyes almost popped out of my head when they handed us a $400 bill... He was there for a total of TWO hours... and they just had to stich closed the wound, it was clean, uninfected... We didn't get to speak to the surgeon unfortunately and all the bill said was that they did "soft tissue surgery"?!?! AHHHH! well, at least he's ok now, just very uncomfortable and annoyed with his cone face . Does this seem crazy to you all?? When Tucker had to go to the Emergency vet and stay the night w/ a bajillion tests his bill was $700... I had no idea this ordeal would cost so much...

| Whoa!!!!! That is one ugly wound, and one beautiful kitty. Poor little Scooter, he looks like he still has a smile on his face for mommy. Last New Years day we took both Tiki and Surfie into the emergency vet. They both had diarrhea for three days and then I noticed blood. I knew the Vet was going to be closed the next day as well, three days off for the New Years. Anyway, $658.00 later, (If memory serves) I had meds to stop the diarrhea, and some huge pill to calm their tummies. Nothing more, as they felt it was stress from the holidays after they ran all kinds of costly tests, they saw them for about an hour. My normal Vet almost KILLED me, he was so mad at how much they ripped us off. He told me “do not go to the emergency vet unless you know your animal is badly wounded or acting extremely sick.” Never again, unless I feel they can’t wait for the Vet to reopen…….

| Poor Scooter.....good thing he has such a good mommy!! Don't know for sure, but the excessive amount of money probably had to do with the fact that it was after hours vet. I know here in my town, the vets charge a $100 fee for having to walk into his office after hours, and then charge you for anything they have to do. I hope that Scooter gets better quickly!! |
