| My Golden Retriever I don't remember posting any pictures of my Golden Retriever Penny. She just turned 7 years old June 1 of this year. I hate to admit that she is getting "up there", but you can see on her face that she is starting to gray. She is the most loving, sweet baby and seems to understand what we say. She will pee and poo on command and is just so very smart and gentle. She tolerates the babies, but would rather they quit trying to kiss her in the face so much. She loves our kisses, but not theirs....LOL I think she is the best!!!!

| Your golden is very pretty also. Thanks everyone for the compliments. Goldens have to be about the best as far a large family dogs. Wonderful, committed, loyal, just everything about them is family.

| I love Golden's. My Abby sounds very much like yours. I'm not sure how old Abby is though because I got her from the shelter. The vet said she would guess was a pure golden and guessed her to be 4 or 5 (a year ago). However, there are days where she seems older, creaky, slow, etc. She too tolerates Alphy but every once in awhile she gives him a run for his money. He just loves her. Abby though is constantly coming up and nudging you to pet her. She gets her nose up under your arm and bump bump, strongest neck in the world. My sister says hers does the same thing. Does Penny do the same? I'm wondering if it's because I adopted her. She's usually not far form me and constantly wants reassurance it seems.

| Penny does the same with her nose, always wanting to be pet and loved on, which we do, of course. She loves tennis balls and will pick up 1 or 2 at a time to play fetch. And loves to be brushed and combed. When I trim her nails, she rolls over on her back and lets me do all four feet, so funny. We love her so much!!!

| What is the fascination with tennis balls? I've got them everywhere. Cutest is to watch Alphy get it in his mouth and try and run away with it hoping Abby will chase him. Abby too loves to be groomed, but nails.. forget about it. I have to take her to Petsmart and then sit on her to hold her down so they can do it. Ug... any suggestions?

| The only thing I did when trimming nails was rub her belly, trim a foot, rub belly trim foot, and so on and so on. BUT I started when she was a puppy.
