| I am so worried about my Mom' Cocker My mom has a 4-5 yr old cocker spaniel, Lady, who had a horrible ordeal last night. My mom call me about 12:30 am last night freaking out. She said her other dog, Sophie (Chinese Shar-pei) was braking out of control last night which work her up. At first she thought someone or something was out side, but then she realized Lady did not wake up. She said that Lady was real stiff, cold, and she had her eyes were open. My mom tried yelling at her and shaking Lady a little to rouse he up, Lady would not come around. Finally, Lady came to and was very disorientated at first. Mom gave her some water and watched her all night. I just spoke to mom, whom is on the way to vet's right now, said that Lady is acting normal this morning. Do any of ya'll have any clue what happened? My mom is really upset and worried about Lady. Her dogs are like her kids, and if anything would happen she would be devastated. My dad works offshore is gone most of the time and my sister and I do not live near her, so all she has is her dogs. |

| Maybe it could have been a seizure of some kind? My grandmother had a poodle with epilepsy & I think that that is how it acted when it had an episode.

| We are thinking it is a seizure. Lady was just at the vets last Thursday with a little bladder infection, and they ran a lot of blood work on her including a thyorid test because she is over weight. All of her blood work came back fine and the thyorid test is suspose to be back today. The vet put her on some antibiotics and a new diet. My mom has her at the vet right know, so I am just waiting for her to call me. |

| I just talked to my mom. The vet confirmed that Lady did have seizure and they do not know what caused it. He said to watch her and if she has another one to call him immediately. He does not want to give her in meds until they know what is causing the seizures. He also said when she has a seizure to give her peanut butter because it will bring her sugar level down. Also, the vet did mention that there is a possibility that she may not even have another one, we just don't know. |
