My cocker Lucy doesn't like my husband

My lucy is a cocker and she for some reason has decided she doesn't like my husband. If he comes around me she runs in front of me and gets all kinds of hateful. He is not animal crazy at all but he doesn't want them not liking him so he's trying with her. He's been giving her attention and she loves it but the minute its over with she's back to the same ol thing. She is beside me all the time and I think she is just jealous and feels the need to protect..what do you think?

LOL...She's just being an Attention HOG. I think it's cute...I have a cocker spaniel too...Tessa. She is sweet to both of us ...but since we got the yorkie girls - she seemed to hang out with my husband more....I think the girls are just toooo Busy for her !

It surprised me she is being this way really. She is 4 months old and I've only had her a month. You'd think she'd be used to sharing me considering I have to devide my attention between the kids and other dogs. But I do spend all day home with them all as to where he is gone all day and he isn't crazy about my animals so that may be why too. He is starting to try now. I think he's realizing now that they need him too. Plus seeing how lucy treats him has made him realize as well..cause she gets really aggressive towards him. Also the other day when my father-in law came over she wouldn't let him near her she barked at him if he tried. And when my 17 year old comes in from work she barks at him too. I wonder if it's just because she spends most of her time with females and since the males in the house (with the exception of my 3 year old which she likes)don't pay any attention to her that maybe that is why..I think I'll teach her to attack my husband when he makes me mad..just kidding lol

Lucy is beautiful. It sounds like she is trying to protect you. I had a cocker who would hide behind this skinny tree in the yard when company would come over. It wasn't even big enough to hide him. LOL! He would peek his head around like we couldn't see him. She is young and with some work I think she will start to understand that it is ok. Good luck.

That is just too cute..IT's funny how they are like little kids in so many ways..thinking i can't see you so you can't see me lol..
I'm hoping that with some work she will come out of this. I know that even though it's cute now..it won't be when she's full grown and can bite hard..
