| RIP Ishmael Yesterday we had to help our Border Collie pass. He'd been such a healthy dog all this life, until this past weekend when our two yorkies started going frantic in the middle of the night. (they sleep with me). Ish sleeps down stairs. Caleb and Pip, lead me to the stairs and made it obvious something was wrong. We thought a fire or something, by the way they were behaving. We found Ishmael's (Ish) bed covered in poop and he'd weed on the floor. Something he never did. We cleared up and he went back to bed. Next day he was off his food in the morning but ok. We planned a vet visit. But next day he collapsed and we rushed him to the vet. He was put on Epiphen and booked in for blood tests for the Feb 1st. Our daughter came over to see him and love on him. He never left his bed, looked miserable, and needed help with a blanket under his belly to walk to the garden to go for a pee, so we took him back to vets. There was no hope, he was too ill. So we let him go, in our arms. Pip adored Ish, she loved on him every chance she got. She's been looking for him then curling in a ball. We have so many routines, that are about him, that hubby and I are a bit lost today. To top it off, we also needed to take our 15 year old cat Dargo, to the vet yesterday, but couldn't do it at the same time as Ishmael, so he had to go in today. He was given something for constipation...went while at vets. Had his teeth checked as he'd seemed to be having trouble eating. Hopefully constipation meds will fix that. Ishmael was such a joy to have. Always happy, active and eager to please. No one could believe how old he was, even up to recently, he was confused for a puppy. We're so grateful he was healthy for so long. Grateful to have had him in our lives. He will be sadly missed. Sorry this is a ramble. Hubby and I are a bit of mess at the moment.

I know you are missing him terribly, and are feeling a bit confused/lost/undecided/aimlessly wandering around.....all normal feelings we experience when we loose one that has been so special, so near and dear to us for so long.....I am so sorry for your loss....try to rejoice in all the memories of the wonderful times you spent with this gentleman......and he was such a handsome gentleman! |

| Our 15 year old cat, Dargo is at the vets. Vet has phoned several times and it's not looking good. Swollen gallbladder. We're waiting for results of blood tests. Pip was at the vets not so long ago with gastroenteritis , then poor Ishmael and his passing, now Dargo. It a bit of a nightmare, so stressful. We went to the woods for the first time (with Caleb and Pippi) without Ishmael, it was bitter sweet.

| I'm sorry for your loss. I hope Dargo is going to be ok. Even when your pets live long and healthy lives, it still never seems like it's their time to go.

| RIP Ishmael - he looks like he has a wonderful spirit that I'm sure can still be felt. Big hugs to you and your family, including the furry ones. They mourn just as much as we do. And ramble all you want, it's good to talk to other animal lovers. I'm so very sorry for your loss. |

| Thank you so much for the well wishes and good thoughts. Sadly Dargo, who'd been with us 15 years also passed within a week of Ishmael. So a double blow, in such a short time. We are missing them both, Caleb and Pip still look for them. If there is a noise upstairs that sounds cat like. Pip wags her tail like crazy and shoots upstairs, then looks so disappointed, when she can't find the source.
