YT 2000 Club Donating Member | No dob, but I spent Sunday with about 20 of them doing Temperament testing. Many were re-active to Razzle. Do a lot of research on Dobs, go to their National Club both USA and Canada and read up about them. They, at least my understanding and what I observed have a fairly high prey drive. That in and of itself is somewhat of a concern, as in my experience Yorkies do tend to excite the prey drive in prey driven dogs. So you would need to be very cautious of bringing in a puppy Dob and until the dog is fully trained and sometimes even then with your Yorkie dog. Dobs tend to be high energy dogs, and will require good obedience training. Also you should be carefull of the lineage you choose to get a pup from. The lineage can tell you lots about what kind of temperament the breeder is breeding for. If you get a Dob from a working dog lineage, it just might be too much for a regular pet owner to handle correctly. I will put this in more human terms, these dogs should have a high and driven work ethic, which means they are happiest most content and healthiest when they are worked with their owners. Probably doesn't matter what kind of work, but that it is a purposefull work. If you are a pet owner one way you could translate this is, teach your Dob to fetch your slippers, or the newspaper, open up cupboards for you, find lost articles. You could even teach them to track.
