| When Nila Ran Away.... This is about my sister's dog, (cousin to Princess), Nila. She's a yellow lab/Chow mix. This happened about 2 years ago when Nila was about 2yrs. old. My DS, BIL & 2 nephews live in a nice neighborhood just off one of the busiest streets in my city. It's very quiet, warm & inviting. For Nila to potty they let her out the back door & she goes in the back yard. It basically has a perimeter on 3 sides, the other side is open to the driveway. She always goes out, takes care of biz & comes right back to the door. On this particular night it was only my BIL awake & she wanted to go out. So he let her out & went back to watch TV where he says he fell asleep. He did not wake until several hours later & Nila was no where to be found. Both he & my DS took the day off of work to look for her, it happened to be my day off so I came to look. My DS made posters, tons of posters, and we put them everywhere! She checked the pound, etc. several times a day all with no luck. She only received one phone call about someone who might have seen her. We scoured that area & came up with nothing. About a week and a half passed & I was at my parents one morning. My other sister who goes to my DS in the a.m. usually brings her rat terrier, Taz with her. Taz was in the back yard with the other 3 dogs barking like crazy. We looked out one window & saw nothing so I ran out just to make sure someone wasn't trying to come into the yard. Someone was....it was Nila! She had found my parents house, we don't know if she smelled all of us who did go to her house on occasion or Taz or what. She had not been there since she was probably 3-4 months old but maybe she remembered the smell? We'll never know. We brought her inside avoiding the other dogs just in case & she looked perfectly fine. She had lost some weight, but she's a stocky build so it didn't look bad or anything. We called my DS at work who rushed over & we all shared in the tearful reunion. My DS lives about 0.5-0.75 miles from my parents. There are super busy streets on both ends of both their streets. We searched both of those areas, one was where the call came in to. So that means Nila crossed at least one of the busiest streets in Kalamazoo, but probably more than that. She must of really had a guardian angel looking out for her...and my BIL, too. Had Nila not been found I'd probably be saying my ex-BIL! It seems like so many negative things are surrounding us lately, I just wanted to share something with a happy ending. If you have one you'd like to share feel free.

| Wow, it's great to hear she found her way. What a crazy girl! With all the negative, it is nice to hear a story with a happy ending. Thanks for that!
