| My retarded but cute 90 lb lab So...we got home from homeschool coop today to find Sawyer in this predicament. His escape attempt # 29? He has a huge yard, a black lab playmate, plenty of water and the yorkies when we take them out...so why he feels the need to escape I will never understand. It was funny...but also pitiful. He lay there like..." I'm Stuuuuck....whine...I'm Stuuuuck".... When we got him out...we couldn't figure out how he even got in there, esp. in that position? His body was up on a hump...very strange... |

| Brenda, he was in the fenced back yard, was trying to dig out to freedom. couldn't get through, so he turned around to try to crawl out (backinto the backyard) but got stuck! He is adorable but can be annoyingly troublesome! This is the same dog that dug holes in our 3 day old wood flooring in the house to try to reach a crumb under the counter. Thus he is banished to the backyard. I thought they mellowed out with age...He's SIX! deb |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | OMG, OMG, OMG, those pictures -- once you get to the happy ending part -- are hilarious. Leave it to a freakin' Lab to get in a predicament like that! I wish I had advice for you, but I've been in a similar boat before with Rusty. I was at a fenced ballpark with him one time for a meetup, and I left him in the gated area while I walked across the street to my car. Rusty threw a fit. There was a gate with a tiny opening underneath. Not even the Yorkies dared trying to sneak under it. But, sure enough, Rusty miraculously crawled under it and raced across the street to get to me. Some of the people I was with was sure he was going to break his back. It's funny, though. When we first got him, he used to regularly escape our yard. I finally closed off the area he escaped with some cheap wire fencing nailed to a log at the bottom. He tried but eventually gave up. Now, a couple years later, the fencing has gotten worn out, and I have no doubt he could easily jump it. But he doesn't even try. I'm so glad you thought to snap some pictures. I'm sure it was scary for a while.
