| Yorkies and hamsters I know Yorkies were bred to kill rodents back in the day, so I was wondering how your pup does with a hamster (if you have one). My son just got a hamster for his birthday and anytime someone talks to the hamster in his cage Isla goes crazy and starts jumping on your leg. If Rhino (the hamster) is in his exercise ball Isla will chase the ball and nose it if the hamster stops. It's comical but I don't think Rhino enjoys it much. I just think it's funny that the dogs are more interested in him than the cat--who kills voles all summer long! P.S. Rhino really is a good hamster. He has a great personality and temperment which makes him really fun and I bet he would like to snuggle with one of the dogs if they gave him a chance!

| My students have a zhu-zhu pet (we can't get a real one due to kids allergies) and everyone has a turn taking it home and it's my turn this weekend (joy), so I'm excited to see how the dogs act. My students want me to take pictures lol. I bet Bandit will be scared out of his mind, and Nala will want to play with it all day long! |

| We got two hamsters when Chip was a baby. He liked them! I don't know if I would have trusted him to cuddle, but in with the balls and them just being in the room with him, he was fine. Here's a video of him the day we brought the hammies home. Please ignore my baby talking him! Chip and hammies video by elfzrkool2 - Photobucket

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Tuffy has a Hamusuta; it's a generic Zhu Zhu & you can buy it online or in Cracker Barrell (around 8$). It comes in it's own playball. I have a video posted of him playing with it in our semi truck (turn down the volume...LOL).

That is so how Isla is! However she does like to bark at Rhino if he gets rolling in his ball, and like I said, will push him if he stops. But really I think she's trying to get him!

| Oh, and by the way, just a quick bit about the Zhu Zhu hamsters: they tangle in long hair! My daycare girl I watch brought one over one day and the ZZ hamster was 'crawling' in my daughter's hair and got tangled around the wheels. And of course anytime you move it the wheels move so I finally had to cut it out! Poor thing...so watch your fur babies if they have long hair!
