| Prayers for our Puppy... Yesterday I received a hysteric call at work from my boyfriend saying that our Basenji mix was hurt. He was playing and jumped off the couch and when he landed started screaming. We rushed him to our vet who took xrays to find that his femur is broken. Because of the nature of the break it cannot be casted and he needs surgery to fix it. Right now thanks to a close friend, he is home with us on pain medication and awaiting surgery. Instead of paying the $3-5 thousand dollars at one of the 24 hour emergency centers, my boss' friend is a DVM whose practice also has a surgeon. She is going over Koi's xrays with him this morning and have said they will keep the surgery under $1500 for us. This amount of money is still going to be difficult...we're just taking it one hour at a time... Please keep Koi in your thoughts...

| Sending prayer's for Koi and hope his surgery goes well and he has a speedy recovery. That's some difference in price. You got lucky. Take one day at a time. It will all work out. |

| Thank you all so much. Koi is on his way to the surgeon about an hour away. I have to work so my boyfriend took him...I'm really stressed, I want to be there so bad. Our best friend is putting it on her credit card for us. We are so lucky to have such good people around us. Now we just have to figure out how to pay her back I've applied for some grants because Koi was a rescue and his injury was a freak accident. Still taking it one step at a time...

| I'm sorry that this happed to you and Koi (love the name, ) Have you thought about care credit? You can stretch the payments out or pay it off in 3 mos without interest. Good luck with the surgery and I hope that Koi has a speedy recovery.

| Care Credit denied us. Ron got laid off a few months ago and used his savings while looking for a new job. I have too much revolving credit. And of course this happened as I just did all my Christmas shopping so my savings are limited too LifeLine has agreed to give us $100 A lot of people are donating at work. We are starting a raffle and making collection cans. We're also starting a Poker Tournament. We're selling anything and everything we can afford to lose. Koi's surgery is scheduled to start right now...so it's just a waiting game.

| So how is Koi doing today? Sorry about the financial thing. Makes it rough. Glad you have people around you who care about you and your furbabies. Not all are so blessed. ~Joanne~

| Koi is out of surgery and resting. We get to pick him up tomorrow afternoon I've made a simple website to try and spread the news and awareness. As soon as it's ready I'm going to post its link in a new thread. I'd really just like people to visit and sign the Guestbook and any ideas for us. Thank you everyone.
