| Leaving collars on big dogs dangerous too! I've never left collars on my little ones because fear of them getting caught on something while I'm not home. I have always left our golden retriever's collar on though. A couple days ago, his collar got caught on some furniture and my husband walked in the room to find him choking! We are so lucky we were home and found him! When he got caught he didn't realize he could just back up and free himself. Instead he freaked out and lept forward making the tightening loop on the collar (it was one of those slide to tighten collars) tighten up and he couldn't get any air, tongue hanging out. It was very scary, i hate to think of what could have happened!! Last edited by chloeandj; 12-11-2008 at 01:14 PM. |
