| We had to put him down :( Our 11 year old min pin got very very sick. was throwing up a lot, couldn't walk without tripping over himself, running into things, etc. We took him into the vet yesterday, they kept him overnight, and called today saying he was having seizures and his body was not producing urine. They said he had kidney failure My husband has had this dog since he was 7 weeks old. He has been a part of my family for the last 4 years. We both agreed that he needed to be put down because the vet said there was just no chance of recovery. We are all so incredibly sad. Especially my 6 year old daughter. I had NO idea I would be this sad Rex and I never really bonded...but this is killing me. I have never had to do this before He will be missed terribly! RIP Rex!!!!!!!!

| I should also mention, Maggie and Rex were soooo close. She really loved him. The first thing she wanted to do in the mornings was love on him and play with him. And Rex loved Maggie. If she ever cried, he wouldn't leave until he knew she was ok. He really was a very very sweet dog I feel horrible that I never bonded with him. I hate myself for that

| Just because you never bonded, doesn't mean you didn't love him! And I'm sure he knew that! I'm so sorry you and your family had to do such a hard thing, especially your daughter! You will always have memories and pictures! He was very cute!

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Awww, I'm so sorry about your loss and for the hardship of having to make that difficult decision to put a beloved pet down. I too had to make that decision for the first time last November with our Alfie. I was very hard and yet we knew it had to be done for his sake. (((((Hugs to you and your family)))))

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I'm so sorry. I know this is very hard for you. Its OK that you didn't bond with him -- it doesn't mean you didn't/don't love him! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

| I'm so sorry for your family's loss. It is incredibly hard to put an animal down even though it is often the best and right thing. Hugs to you and yours.

| you are right. But I still can't help but feel bad. I could have been so much better with him. I really could have. I never loved on him the way I do maggie and daisy. I made my husband stop giving him treats all the time (which was for all the dogs, not just him)...I just feel like I could have done more to try to bond with him. I just let him be. We co-existed...I tolerated him and he tolerated me. Everyone loved him....he was SOOOOO sweet. Loved people and other animals. For some reason, I never saw those things in him until now. I feel very very bad. I can't stop crying. It will be sooooo different without him here. I just went to get a candle from my room and saw his bed...covered in his hair...and it just kills me.

| I'm so sorry about this, putting a dog down is probably the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I hope you have the strength to get through this hard time.

| So sorry for your families loss. They sure do leave an empty spot when they have to go, don't they? He sure was a cute little guy.

| Mandee, I am sorry for your families loss. I love those little guys. My daughter has one, black, tan his name is Epcot. They are serious Disney fans. I find their attitudes much like the Yorkie. They think the world revolves around them! I am sure Maggie will be lost for awhile without her friend. I hope she make the adjustment ok. He was a cutie. R.I.P. little one. |
