That happened to our home too. Had to have all new carpet. Where our water heater was located, it soaked 6 rooms of carpet. The insurance company water rescue team never could get the carpet dry. It started to sour, and WHOA was that stinky. So don't stand for just allowing the carpet to dry.

| That happened to my parents. The insurance company was going to pay for new flooring and some furniture replacement, the feet got water damaged. My Dad settled with a cash payment of $8000.00 Then Had the flooring replaced got a new dinningroom set with money left over because shopped around himself. I also had a sink back up with dishwasher running and took the cash instead of having the insurance company replace it. I got a much better quality kitchen and new flooring by arranging it myself. My cash pay out was $7000.00 7 years ago. Good Luck !!!

| That happened to us also when our hot water heater needed to be replaced. We don't have carpet in our basement and we have drains so we didn't have any damage.

| My washer broke and flooded my bedroom, and it's carpeted. The problem is that it took my apartment 3 days to get a fan over to dry it out, and they won't change the carpet! Now my room smells so bad! Ok, now I feel really gross...

| MY APARTMENT STINKS!!!!! Ugh! I came home to find my old water heater laying in the yard out front (very trashy) and a new one in my apartment. Great right? NO! They did not dry out the carpet, no fan or anything. They tracked dirt and mud all over my apartment, all my lights were on, my water is brown, and they for some reason needed to get in my laundry room and all of my clean underwear and bras have been touched and moved!! Ewwwwwwwwwww........I feel violated. The slogan for my apartment complex is "Luxury Living" sure, luxury living my a@* |

| Sooo sorry too hear what your going thru. It really sucks!! They better had give you new carpet. Mold will settle in and its not healthy for you or Simon and Hallie!! Once carpet gets wet-- thats it!!! Not to mention- the smell- its impossible to get rid of that smell!!! You better fight tooth and nail to get them to replace the carpet.

Bad News! As a 15 year insurance adjuster, I can tell you one thing.. MOLD..! If they did not extract the water, pull up the capets and use anti microbial, you may be in for more trouble than you can imagine. Do Not Delay! This is serious stuff! You should force them to go to another unit, until the situation is taken care of..
