| Fun/Romantic Getaways So Josh and I will be dating for 3 years this coming February, and we were wanting to take another vacation around then or March. Whats a fun place to go. I won't be able to take off work for a week, but maybe 4 or 5 days. We were thinking about going back to the mountians, but actually going INTo the mountains. What do you suggest? I want to take the dogs to. Last edited by Superstarkba; 10-16-2007 at 03:50 PM. |

| Ok, for 4 or 5 days--kinda close to Atlanta?? Do you want to drive or fly? If you are driving (and like the beach), you can't go wrong with the Gulf Coast. We like Destin, Florida a lot and it is only around 5 hours away. We haven't been, but have friends who always go to the Highlands in North Carolina (mountains, etc). That is a little closer, too. Hilton Head is nice (but I don't think the beach is as pretty as the Gulf of Mexico is). Hmmmmm, I'm going to keep thinking. I love getaways!!!

| Driving would be better since I have two dogs and I don't want to deal with the airlines, altough I can fly for free.. guess it just depends. |

| ok, last time we were in Destin we noticed it wasn't very pet friendly, so maybe that's not such a good idea. I think it was on here that I saw that someone from Myrtle Beach said it was pet friendly. Oh, we went to Savannah once and EVERYONE had their dogs down by the harbor. It was really neat. Lots of outdoor restaurants, hotels, shops, etc. Plus, it is not a long drive at all. St. Simons Island is nice too (that's in south Georgia). Most of these places are around the water, so if you don't like water, I can be quiet anytime!!!

We were going to go to Destin, but you can't even take you dogs to the beach. And I didn't want to leave them in the room all the time. | |

| Google Hot Springs, NC..its a small little down and they have mineral hot tubs you can sit in for 30 mins-1 hr for under $20..if that. Its a quite little down so if you spent a week there, you would get bored. But 4-5 days is perfect! There are also a lot of places to get messages $50/hr and the hotels are also fairly inexpensive. My boyfriend and I went there for our 1 yr and had a very romantic little get-a-way! Good luck!
